We’re actively seeking a WordPress Sr. Developer to join the Enterprise Technology department in the Operations division. This position is a Permanent Full time or Contract to Hire opportunity. 

WordPress Sr. Developer Core Job Responsibilities

  • Managing and administering the Org’s WordPress instance
  • Assisting in defining, developing and implementing the WordPress strategic roadmap and releases of features
  • Maintaining, enhancing and administering the WordPress to Salesforce integration
  • Providing support, spot training/coaching, data/reporting as needed
  • Maintaining the WordPress solution (upgrades/feature releases), workflows, functions, configurations, process/system documentation
  • Ensuring maximum uptime, accessibility, security of WordPress and its enabling role with other AMA ecosystem platforms
  • Completing other special projects as assigned

What You Have

  • Eight (8) plus years of experience developing web-based applications
  • Five (5) plus years of experience developing WordPress Sites
  • Extensive experience implementing complex WordPress multi-sites
  • Expertise in crafting modern PHP
  • Comprehensive understanding of what it takes to write secure and performant code
  • Thorough knowledge of WordPress, PHP, MySQL, Bootstrap, JavaScript (ES6), React, HTML5, Sass, and CSS3.
  • Experience building, enhancing and maintaining PHP (preferably WordPress) to Salesforce integrations
  • Understanding of RESTful Web Services technologies such as JSON, SOAP, and HTTP

What You May Also Have

  • Good understanding of Single PageApplications (SPAs), asynchronous request handling, partial page updates
  • Proven delivery of responsive and adaptive web solutions including progressive web applications
  • Experience working with Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and edge caching
  • Strong understanding of website optimization, minification, compression
  • Proven ability to create design diagrams

Key departmental goals are transitioning to WordPress (replacing legacy Content Management System), transitioning to Salesforce for the org (replacing legacy Association Management System), transitioning to a new Enterprise Resource Platform (replacing legacy Enterprise Resource Platform), other business technology and infrastructure initiatives.
