The successful candidate realizes that large automated test suites are a large asset to any company, but also realizes they they must be properly maintained and curated to prevent them from becoming a net negative for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that UrbanBound’s products are awesome, and of the highest quality.

  • Read through the source code of features, to get a better understanding of how a feature is implemented, so you can determine the best way to test it.

  • Constantly evaluate the current landscape of testing tools and approaches, checking to see if we could be doing something smarter, or faster.

  • Mentor junior members of the Quality Assurance team, helping them become better automation engineers.

  • Serve as an advocate for the user by ensuring that we are providing the best possible user experience.

  • Implement end-to-end automated feature tests through critical paths in the application.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose test failures.

  • Keep the test suite running like a finely tuned muscle car.

  • Find edge cases, quirks, bugs, and inconsistencies before our users do.

  • Work with development and design to fix any issues discovered during testing.

  • Hold test code to the same, high standards as production code.

Requirements

  • You must love working with the best tools and people.

  • 6+ years experience in quality assurance.

  • 4+ years experience testing web-based products.

  • 3+ years experience implementing end-to-end automated tests using tools like Selenium, Capybara or Nightwatch.js.

  • Experience managing and maintaining a large automated test suite.

  • Experience testing applications on different platforms, such as desktop, web, and mobile.

  • Familiarity with the latest techniques in automated testing.

  • Experience working on an agile team.

  • Meticulous attention to detail, results-driven attitude, and ownership over quality and outcomes.

  • Enjoys working with people in engineering, product development, sales, marketing, and customer support.

  • Security testing experience is a big plus.
