Job Description Summary

The primary objective of our Java Software Engineer is to participate in the development and maintenance efforts of tools and databases to support vehicle data used by both internal and external customers. This individual will leverage their knowledge of analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance of software applications to develop, enhance, and modify CCC applications. The Java / J2EE Software Engineer is expected to assist with the conceptualization of software solutions at both the unit level, i.e. program module, and at the system level, i.e. integrated applications. This individual demonstrates an understanding of the latest development environments including development tools and applications.

Job Duties

* Code J2EE software applications
* Create and execute unit test plans
* Research and correct defects
* Participate in design sessions to define implementation approach for new functionality
* Participate in functional and technical specification reviews
* Participate in creating and executing integration level test plans
* Develop detailed technical analysis and design specifications based on functional requirements
* Research technical solutions to business problems

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on enterprise application development experience
Strong understanding of OO programming (Java) concepts and frameworks (JEE technologies, Spring)
Experience with Agile development methodology and Test-Driven Development
Experience in developing web applications using at least one of the modern JavaScript frameworks (Jquery /Angular JS / Bootstrap/JSON))

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience with Source Control (SVN/Git) and Build Automation Tools (Maven / Hudson)
Good knowledge of Linux operating system environments
Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL
Good understanding of SOAP & REST web services deployment
