About the Role

Groove Health is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in downtown Chicago. In your role as Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on our industry-leading web applications. You will collaborate with our existing team of developers to design, develop, test, and launch new functionalities for our platform. You should be familiar with all aspects of application development, particularly front-end development of web applications using HTML5 & CSS3, Javascript, and modern Javascript frameworks (AngularJS, ReactJS…etc.). Since we are a growing startup, you’ll be expected to have familiarity with the whole code base and all of our products and services. You should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and passionate about healthcare – this is a great opportunity to shape the industry!

Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with your product and development teammates to understand and define requirements
• Lead the front-end development of our web applications using best practices and the latest technologies
• Utilize test methodology, version control and release process to ensure application quality and performance
• Investigate and resolve bugs or deficiencies, monitor and optimize application performance and drive improvements
• Be involved in many different aspects of our product development, across multiple software development projects
• Meet deadlines and deliver milestones on-time and accurately

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master’s Degree in Computer Science preferred
• 2+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying high performance web applications
• Expert knowledge of front-end development with HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript
• Significant experience with AngularJS, ReactJS and other modern Javascript frameworks
• Knowledge of C#, .NET, MVC, Microsoft SQL, Python, and Microsoft Azure
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Excellent visual, written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, communicate progress, and meet deadlines
• Comfortable in a startup environment – we’re fast-paced, self-motivated, and determined to change the industry
