We are seeking an Engineering Manager to guide the growth and delivery of one of the three core data planes of the Nordstrom Analytics Platform.  The Customer Data Plane is central to our goal of providing personalized customer and styling experiences.  This Engineering Manager will be supporting the Styling and Remote Selling team within the Customer Data Plane to deliver on multiple high impact tracks of work.  The ideal candidate is passionate about creating a data driven culture and finding innovate solutions to challenging business problems. In this position you will have the opportunity to drive strategy and vision as we build out Nordstrom’s Analytical Platform.  

You are responsible for...

• The Customer Data plane within the Nordstrom Analytic Platform and its technical evolution

• The development of both canonical and integrated data objects from event-based data ingestion pipelines

• Developing and fostering a healthy and collaborative culture for your team that embodies both industry best practices and Nordstrom values

• Partnering with Data Scienced teams to deliver innovative styling applications and productionalize ML models

• Growing and developing an incredible team of talented and motivated engineers with high expectations around individual ownership and impact

• Driving the roadmap and technical vision for the team, collaborate with product groups and partner teams to deliver value to our customers

• Influencing key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions

• Being the bar raiser, pushing the limit on how solutions are designed and built, how systems are operated, and how we support our engineers to deliver better experiences for our customers

You own this if you have...

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or comparable experience

• Experience (2+ years preferred) managing and leading a team of junior and senior engineers to achieve impactful results

• Demonstrable experience owning and operating business critical systems servicing internal and external customers

• Experience in AWS, Kafka, Java, Python, Spark, Kubernetes and data modeling preferred

• Deep experience in development, are comfortable working in code and skilled at explaining and advocating for new technologies and solutions.

Hourly and salary pay ranges specific to Colorado are listed below, which is provided in compliance with Colorado law.  Nordstrom continues to remain competitive with pay and benefits in all markets.

Hourly

Minimum - $12.55/hr

Maximum - $46.10/hr

Salary (Non-Exempt and Exempt)

Minimum - $30,200/annual

Maximum - $289,200/annual
