The Software Maintenance Engineer plays an integral role in the performance and availability of Paylocity products. This position offers opportunities for growth through an inquisitive nature to learn new technologies, adapting to development cycles, and a strong desire to understand the root cause of reported issues. · Our teams work in 2-week sprints that rotate between top tier support of our production environment and patching our suite of software products.

· In the support cycle, you will take on challenging new tasks every day. This provides an excellent opportunity to hone your troubleshooting skills and increasing your knowledge of our customer’s daily needs.

· In the patch cycle you will design and develop small-scale solutions to improve our customer’s overall experience within our application suite.

Required Experience:

· Ability to think critically to help design and implement monitoring tools that will provide transparency to applications state, history, and trends.

· Ability to harness creativity, old and new ideas, and to think beyond your training with the goal of developing innovative solutions for business sensitive deadlines.

· A strong desire to get to the root cause of an issue, utilizing a light-weight process.

· Ability to effectively communicate details of complex issues to stake holders, business and technical users.

· Experience supporting a highly available application.

· Above average knowledge of T-SQL.

· Working knowledge of Visual Studio’s development tools.

· Working knowledge of ASP.Net/C#, MVC, JavaScript, Microsoft Reporting Services.

During the last three months, you would have:

· Utilized advanced troubleshooting skills to ensure critical errors within our application are resolved in a timely manner.

·  Created solutions to fix application bugs utilizing multiple different technologies, including T-SQL, C# , .Net, etc

· Provided input on reoccurring issues that can be addressed to prevent future issues

· Championed changes to processes to continue to enable our lean model.
