Northern Trust is looking for Java Developer to join its Technology Development Center in Chicago, IL.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• The developer will be working on strategic Trust accounting, tax and custody programs and will be responsible for input in architecting new applications, enhancements and delivering the user stories
• He/she would be responsible for design and development of Global accounting hub and Account Inquiry and Maintenance applications.

EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in Front end technology.

• Should have experience using React, JavaScript, Redux and Jest

Required Skills:

• Write optimal front-end code using React, JavaScript (ES6+), CSS and HTML
• Familiarity with modern web development tools and patterns, e.g. Redux, npm ,yarn, babel, webpack etc
• Experience in writing tests in Jest/Enzyme and React Testing Library

• Perform code reviews and ensure the team adheres to best practices
• Mentor junior software developers
• Investigate, debug and resolve live site issues
• Agile Methodology and Scrum process for software development

• Design, code, implement and test new features and components
• Analyze memory footprints of application and address issues
• Design and develop RESTful service with Spring Boot

• Ensures application implementation is in compliance with defined audit, risk and security requirements

Preferred/ Recommended Skills:

• Fluent in Javascript and React v16
• Experience in React development using Hooks

• Experience in testing framework like Jest, Enzyme
• Experience on Java and Spring Boot
• Familiarity with development tools Spring tool Suite(STS), IntelliJ IDEA IDE, Atlassian Bamboo,
• Experience in cash/financial domain
• Understands cloud architectures and Pivotal Cloud Foundry
