Job Description Summary

The Senior Middleware Engineer will be responsible for the design and delivery of system integration and support solutions. This role will be responsible for performing and supervising design, development and implementation of fusion Middleware & AWS Cloud and open source architecture. Additionally, this role would have responsibility for the technical production support of middleware solutions including AWS cloud. This position will be part of the middleware team working with various customers around the USA to design and implement a business solutions and systems that require middleware functionality. Candidate will have large scale middleware solution implementation experience in a distributed complex Java applications spanned across data center & AWS.

 

Job Duties

  • Understands impacts of infrastructure on business operations
  • Designs, builds, tests, and maintains middleware solutions including cloud technologies
  • Ensures that infrastructure systems are designed, implemented, and supported to meet CCC's internal and external standards and service level requirements
  • Solves problems related to installation, implementation, maintenance, and operations of middleware and related infrastructure components
  • Provides advice and counsel to product development and IT Operations' teams
  • Documents system and monitoring designs and related processes
  • Design and Delivery of system integrations and operational support according to schedule and in alignment with design and implementation standards.
  • Support the processes, standards and tools to enable middleware system integration and support
  • Support processes that ensure application availability and manage the application life cycle of the Middleware and related applications.
  • 24x7 On-call support & rotation within the team with 24X7 offshore model in place
  • Manage risks associated with program implementation and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Need to have strong automation background with deeper insights into devops tools and utilities with scripting background
  • Adopt and introduce standard, automated and repeatable processes to improve operational efficiencies, applications/system uptime and reduce total cost of ownership
  • Performs work under the guidance of senior staff
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new and open source technologies quickly
  • Assumes total responsibility for work assigned and delivers on commitments
  • Takes ownership of problems and/or issues and ensures timely resolution
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement of the application / middleware environment
  • Is able to interact with CCC's executive management both inside and outside of IT
  • Is able to respond quickly and adapt to changes in priorities driven by a dynamic marketplace

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree, Master's preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Qualified candidates will be solid technical thought leaders, driven individuals, and possess exceptional business acumen, coupled with strong working knowledge of middleware technology implementations.
  • 5-7 years of complex and distributed Java application implementation experience supporting large scale middleware environments: Must have Fusion Middleware experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience with JBOSS, Oracle Weblogic, OSB, OAM, WSM, AQ / MQ, LDAP, OHS, TOMCAT and other middleware platforms with hands-on working experience working in a team environment.
  • Experience working with DevOps & Automation tools like Chef/Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, RunDeck, Python Scripting, Jenkins, Docker etc.
  • Experience with cloud computing leveraging AWS
  • 5 or more years of experience in application development within Java and Fusion Middleware
  • Experienced with systems roll-outs, adhering to change management, transitions from project phase to on-going systems support
  • Experience in leveraging Application Performance Monitoring Tools in troubleshooting application performance issues like AppDynamics, Wiley Introscope, New Relic, Dynatrace, XPOLOG, etc.
  • Experience in building process capability across technical operations support organizations
  • Experience with disaster recovery and recovering complex environments
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Diligent attention to detail, processes and quality of outputs
  • Operational experience and strong disciplined process knowledge in resolving production outages, and maintaining application environments for support and projects
  • Experience in working with global outsourcing partners
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously among changing priorities
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience implementing, designing and enforcing project management methodology and controls
  • Ability to quickly prioritize issues/requests and be capable of personally diving deep when required to deliver solutions within an accelerated timeframe
  • Works well under pressure and can resolve complex problems
  • Works in a collaborative fashion, elevates team results over individual results
  • Excellent communication skills, presenting, listening and informing. Can communicate up, down and across the organization
  • Experience with Apache Storm, Kafka, Active MQ, PostgreSQL a plus
  • Experience with
  • Insurance/Auto industry experience is a plus
  • Minimal travel may be required.
