As a Technical Lead in Catalog, you will have a leading role in delivering products for our restaurants to manage what they offer our diners. You will design and develop scalable distributed systems that will enable enterprise brands such as McDonald’s and Taco Bell to integrate with the Grubhub marketplace. You will also work on the systems that power our restaurant tablet application. You will also maintain and improve the software and development process to accelerate the teams delivery of value to the business.
Some Challenges You’ll Tackle
- Design, implement and deliver awesome technical platforms and products for all constituencies (diners, corporate accounts, restaurants, internal tools)
- Understand our products from both a technical and business perspective in the context of our larger business.
- Communicate with leadership, product owners, other technologists, and users to create working software based on an understanding of business and technical priorities.
- Break down complex problems into elegant technical solutions to intelligently solve problems for GrubHub.com diners, restaurant, corporate accounts and internal stakeholders
- Actively contribute to the adoption of strong software architecture, development best practices, and new technologies. We are always improving the process of building software; we need you to help contribute.
- You will be a key part in accurately estimating the timing of software delivery
You Should Have
- BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience. (5+ years in e-commerce preferred)
- Experience with Java, C#, C++, or another object oriented language (Expertise in at least one language preferred)
- Experience with a NoSQL database (Cassandra preferred)
- Experience using cloud platforms and/or containerized application deployments
- Experience mentoring software engineers
- Experience as a technical influencer for highly scalable distributed system designs
