What You'll Do

The goal of the Customer Success organization is to create a delightful customer experience and deliver business outcomes for customers through value added services leveraging Uptake’s platform, applications and partner ecosystem.

As VP, Solutions Design and Development in the Customer Success organization, you will lead the cross-functional teams responsible for building all custom solutions, repeatable business solutions and product extensions on top of our platform and products to deliver outcomes and value to our customers. The ideal candidate for this role possesses strong leadership skills and has a successful track record of collaborating with Sales/Pre-sales, Solutions Managers, Enterprise Architects, product and engineering teams to deliver customer solutions. This candidate inspires and motivates others, and loves to win and celebrate success.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Chief Success Officer, Customer Success COO and other Uptake leadership team to set vision for the Solutions team
  • Act as executive technical lead for customer engagements
  • Lead strategy and execution for all teams in the Solutions organization including Solutions Engineering, Enterprise Architects, Solutions Managers, UX, and Data Science teams
  • Collaborate closely with Product & Tech counterparts to ensure Customer Success solutions and extensions are complementary to Uptake’s core platform and products
  • Collaborate with Pre-Sales, Commercial, and Implementation teams to select and scope projects aligned with Customer Success and Uptake’s strategy
  • Drive high quality technical execution and development
  • Coach team members for organizational development while supporting personal career development goals
  • Continue to challenge status quo in terms of development process and best engineering practices. Promote healthy debates around new tools and processes and champion changes that have a positive impact
  • Foster fun, friendly, challenging, and collaborative team environment for retention and recruiting

Qualifications

Required:

  • 15+ years of enterprise software management experience
  • 5+ years of professional services, consulting or other customer-facing role
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate others
  • Familiarity with test-driven development and best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills is a must
  • Highly self-motivated with strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn and improve on existing approaches
  • Demonstrated knowledge of web development frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or Python, Django, and web frontend frameworks such as AngularJS or React

Preferred:

  • Strong understanding of concepts and technologies behind big data and predictive analytics, predictive maintenance and the Industrial Internet of Things 
  • Curiosity to continue to explore new technologies in the market that may strengthen our platform
  • Startup/Lean Enterprise mindset 
  • BS in computer science or related field

Location

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
