Accountant

In this role, you will support our Finance and Operations team, which will be a group of data and number-savvy professionals that partner with the product and sales team to unlock all their potential. The Accountant will be responsible for reporting, analysis and presentation of company-wide financial data while implementing process improvements that make us more efficient.
This role will report directly to the VP of Finance and Operations and will work in a highly visible role that works cross-functionally with leadership throughout the organization.

What You Will Do:
Monitoring department spending and budgets
Auditing and analyzing financial performance per department
Assist in establishing financial controls for internal teams
Advise on cost reduction measures for the business
Compile and present monthly budget and financial reports
Oversee company payroll processing
Processing and entering vendor payments
Monthly Invoicing of SaaS fees and implementation fees
Review of employee expense reports
Keeping account books and systems up to date
Financial forecasting and risk analysis
Support quarterly and annual planning and budgeting cycles
Effectively communicate plans, variances and insights to leadership
Manage ad hoc projects, develop project plans, and monitor performance
Support the VP Finance and Operations with projects that will inform company strategy
Required Qualifications
2-5 years of experience in an Accounting-focused role
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting
Highly organized and detail-oriented who can operate independently and take initiative with little direction
Detail-oriented, able to problem solve using existing tools, and produce reports with minimal errors in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent documentation and reporting skills
Ability to work closely with and influence stakeholders
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Exposure to Access and SQL
Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
Desired Background / Experience:
Interest in the technology and real estate industries
Highly efficient with Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. Vlookups, Pivot tables), PowerPoint and QuickBooks.
Humble and hungry self-starter with a strong desire to learn, drive improvements, and evolve
Highly motivated with both an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong team mentality
Ability to analyze business problems and find solutions need to be able to diagnose problems based on information given to them by others. They then analyze relevant information to solve the problems.
Critical-thinking skills - must be able to figure out what information is relevant to their work. They also must be able to evaluate the costs and benefits of alternative solutions before making a recommendation.
