IrishAngels seeks a detail-oriented, highly organized, and enthusiastic team member who is interested in playing an important hands-on role in continuing to build IrishAngels into a successful investment group. A strong background accounting in plus three years of work experience is required.

The Accounting Manager role is a part-time, contracted position that offers a completely flexible working schedule. The contractor will report to the IrishAngels Manager, while some responsibilities provide interaction with the entire team.

Key Responsibilities

Quarterly Investment Close Process

  • Work with external legal team to open an LLC for each new investment
  • Open bank account for each new investment
  • Confirm investment amounts with investors and draft subscription and operating agreements for review
  • Distribute legal documents to all investors via DocuSign
  • Collect payments for all investments and deposit checks
  • Update IrishAngels internal Master List of Investments with information on each closed deal
  • Manage internal investment close checklist and ensure all documentation is saved to the appropriate folders and update Gust as needed

Quarterly and Annual Reporting

  • Maintain external data sources including IrishAngels profile on Crunchbase, HALO, ACA, Pitchbook
  • Assist with quarterly portfolio company reporting, which tracks revenues, expenses, and cash balance and is reported to relevant investors
  • Manage mark to market valuations for each portfolio company on annual basis

Other

  • Maintain individual bank accounts for IrishAngels LLCs
  • Assist in accounting help regarding portfolio companies exits or wind-downs as necessary
  • Manage yearly K-1 administration with outside accountant
  • Invoice, track and deposit annual member and partner fees
  • Assist with monthly financial reconciliations as needed
  • Gust maintenance / training of new members as needed

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • High comfort with learning and using other technology systems, such as Gust, DocuSign, Seraf and Carta
  • Able to work independently
  • Adheres to strict confidentiality with all company data and information
  • Experience in accounting software (Quickbooks, Xero, etc.) plus Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
  • Friendly and approachable, diplomatic and tactful
  • Forward thinking, able to anticipate future needs
  • Strong sense of urgency, adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness
