Accounts Payable / Receivable Manager

Job Overview: Forager is growing. Due to this growth, we’re looking for a rockstar AP/AR Manager who loves building process, working with every internal team, and loves numbers. You will be responsible overseeing all of our freight accounts payable and receivable, including interfacing with customer and carriers regarding invoices and bills, managing the existing freight invoicing and billing team, working with the product and analytics team to build out the accounting system, and ensuring that Forager is in good standing with its customers, carriers, and vendors. You’re a resourceful problem solver with a knack for finding creative solutions, and you thrive on going above and beyond in a fast-paced environment.

Your Impact:

• Manage a team that is responsible for overseeing, tracking, reporting, and forecasting freight Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Receive and review invoices and relevant paperwork (such as Proof of Deliveries) for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, in addition to performing other general accounting functions as needed
• Ensure timely collection and payment of all outstanding invoices; call and follow up with customers and carriers on an as-needed basis
• Track and monitor aging and past due receivables; proactively report any concerns to the finance and accounting teams
• Oversee the credit approval and monitoring process for all new customers; serve as the key decision maker in terms of how much credit to extend to certain customers
• Manage vendor and customer onboarding and system entry
• Make recommendations to improve the efficiency and accuracy of accounting systems
• Coordinate with various vendors, carriers, customers, and collections agencies (if needed) regarding all freight invoicing and billing
• Be a leader and elevate everyone around you

 What You’ll Bring:

• Associates degree or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably at a logistics company
• Experience working with QuickBooks Online and/or other accounting software
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Strong work ethic and persistence combined with patience and a positive attitude
• Well established organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail
• Ability to delegate, multi-task and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
