The Accounts Payable Specialist performs accounts payables processing, data verification & analysis, journal entries, and various other duties supporting Market Track's Finance group's support and control activities and processes.

  • Managing accounts payable daily processes:
    • resolving contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
    • monitoring discount opportunities; ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos
    • paying vendor invoices by validating expenditures versus products/services delivered
    • keeping track of vendor w-9s and verifying federal tax id numbers
    • overseeing vendor and employee accounts; updating status and making changes into accounting software to ensure record information is accurate and up to date. 
  • Preparing monthly closing of financial records for accounts payable department and other month-end closing related tasks
  • Providing assistance to vendors, contactors, and operation staff; responding to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
  • Overseeing the reviewing and processing employees' monthly business expense reports, and uploading batch files for timely reimbursement to each individual
  • Processing 1099- MISC forms for vendors and contractors; providing assistance with lost form reprinting, form correction and other issues related to 1099 forms
  • Reviewing assigned work; providing timely feedback and making recommendations to help improve AP department performance
  • Overseeing AP practice and procedures to ensure adherence to company guidelines
  • Protecting organization's value by keeping information confidential 
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with business intelligence accounting software, such as NetSuite is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with supervisors and associates in a clear and concise manner; excels in a team environment
  • Must be capable of working in a flexible and team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Must be self-motivated, display initiative and be experienced in pursuing goals in a team environment
