Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the 

As the company executes its growth strategy, Infutor is seeking to identify an exceptional Controller. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will be responsible for building a best-in-class Accounting function that will enable and support the company’s growth and value creation objectives. This position will be responsible for leading all aspects of accounting management, financial statement preparation, and accounts receivable/payable processes. The ideal candidate must possess an aggressive passion for driving the accounting organization to new and higher levels of value through accuracy, timeliness, and process improvement.

This position may require travel between our Oakbrook Terrace and Chicago Loop locations, as required.

This person hired to this role may be based out of our Oakbrook Terrace, IL HQ, or new Downtown Chicago locations. Note, relocation is not provided. 

Responsibilities and Duties

As the Controller, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting all aspects of accounting management (accounting, taxes, billing, reporting etc.)
  • Managing a team of 3+ accounting staff
  • Leading the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
  • Managing compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
  • Managing journal entries, invoices, etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
  • Leading preparation for the annual audit, valuations, and any other projects
  • Helping in development of reports for management and investors
  • Supporting integration of any add-on investments or acquisitions
  • Partnering with Finance to complete monthly financial close
  • Ad-hoc projects, as necessary

 Qualifications and Skills

Minimum education and experience required:

  • CPA, required

  • 5-10 years of experience

  • Proven experience in a similar position

Required skills:

  • Experience managing billing and revenue recognition processes, ideally in a subscription revenue-based environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to constructively explain business challenges to non-financial people as well as to effectively work cross-functionally with a variety of shareholders at multiple levels
  • Experience providing critical input to the CFO and other members of senior management regarding the operational and financial performance of the Company, including recommendations for action
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining internal processes and controls
  • Creativity, flexibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset to the solution of business issues; sound business judgment
  • The ability to meet and exceed deadlines through a demonstrated sense of urgency
  • Meticulous attention to detail, organization, and prioritization with a high level of integrity and principles that embrace transparency
