Director of Finance

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join a privately owned, fast-paced, and fast-growing startup in Chicago!

The Role

As the Director of Finance  you will be responsible for managing Lucky Lincoln Gaming’s financial planning and forecasts, performing in-depth analysis of the company’s financial performance and operating metrics, and serving as the dotted-line financial support for the CEO.

As part of the senior management team you will direct a department owning all aspects of the financial and accounting objectives as well as overseeing a team dedicated to our accounting practices and building out the team to shape and support the financial growth of the company and its future enterprises. This is an outstanding leadership opportunity for someone who has started their career in accounting and grown into more finance-oriented roles.

The Gotta-Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or actuarial sciences
• 8+ years in financial role with demonstrated leadership growth
• Experience with forecasting
• Experience with financial modeling
• Extensive software experience related to finance and accounting
• Fluency in QuickBooks
• Senior experience in Accounts Payable, month-end duties, and reconciliation
• Thorough understanding of GAAP
• Advanced Excel Skills
• Ability to collaborate and delegate as necessary
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
• Ability to analyze and extrapolate data
• Interpersonal effectiveness is a must
• Comfortable in a startup environment where no task is too big or too small

The Nice-To-Haves

• Accounting and finance leadership experience strongly preferred
• Previously held Senior Manager, VP, or Director role
• CPA of CFA
• MBA a plus
• Experience raising capital or securing major lines of credit
• Previous production of line item budget
• Implementation of new software at a previous company
• Experience preparing and presenting Quarterly Reports
• Startup and Big Four experience welcome

Responsibilities Include (But are not limited to):

• Create line item budget, 2020 forecast, and department SOPs
• Design and drive department KPIs
• Maintain internal controls and financial procedures
• Work closely with Director of Operations and Director of Revenue to drive financial growth of all entities
• Own all aspects of financial reporting including monthly reports to CEO
• Responsible for job-costing reports and working with Human Resources on strategic hiring initiatives
• Leading month-end close responsibilities with support from Staff Accountant
• Coordinate audits and file tax returns
• Ensure financial function compliance
• Supervise a staff accountant who manages Accounts Payable and Accounts Received
• Supervise a Treasury Auditor who oversees collections, vault processes, and route designations
