Finance Manager

Our client, Provi, is looking for a Finance Manager to join their growing team.

Founded in 2016, Provi is an open digital marketplace connecting retailers (bars & restaurants), distributors, and suppliers in the alcohol industry.  They are a well funded (backed by a top tier venture capital firm), hungry team making a splash in the $240-Billion-dollar beverage industry.

They're a passionate, collaborative, and rapidly growing team focused on building the future of alcohol ordering, enabled through technology.

Who you are

You will already have a solid grasp of how to run financial operations and financial reporting, and have strong analytical skills.  You are autonomous, and dedicated to learning about + making an impact on the problems at hand.

As the Finance Manager you will own all finance, accounting, and planning & analysis building out solid financial processes that are scalable.  You will be a right hand to the CEO, with a mission to streamline any financial and operations processes.   You will be happy to roll up your sleeves and get things done, including owning areas as needed such as operations, facilities, HR management as needed until specialists are hired to own those functions. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and own the month end close process, production of financial statements and variance to budget analysis
  • Own the vendor payment process and develop an automated and efficient process
  • Own tax, manage sales tax filing, reporting and payments, lead initiatives to identify any tax incentives potentially available
  • Own budgeting and forecasting, including variance to budget analysis
  • Develop financial models on an as needed basis, i.e. for capital investments, pricing decisions, contract negotiations etc.
  • Develop, implement, and manage key metrics & analytics reporting and support all investor reporting
  • Pioneer accounting and financial best practices, using technology to automate and streamline processes where possible. 
  • Help manage HR activities, including management of PEO, on-boarding, and benefits administration

 Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of audit experience in public accounting plus some startup experience, or 2 - 5 years experience in startup Finance
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail combined with big-picture thinking
  • CPA (or in the process of obtaining it)
  • Expert in Quickbooks, Bill.com, Expensify
  • STEM or other advanced degree
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
