Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Finance Analyst is responsible for providing financial support for the North America agency including annual budgeting, monthly close & forecasting, profitability reporting & analysis, agency-specific reporting, and ad-hoc analyses.

Plan/Forecast/Close Process

  • Support development of Agency financial plans in collaboration with Agency stakeholders, client finance team, and supervisors including monthly reporting, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, KPI’s, and other ad-hoc reporting requirements.
  • Analyze actual operating results and explain variances vs. prior year, budget, and forecasts.
  • Help develop performance review packages for senior management meetings.
  • Develop and present monthly departmental reporting packages to department leads.
  • Maintain and innovate reporting files. Establish well-defined, organized, efficient, and documented reporting processes to provide reliable and meaningful analysis to key partners.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of budgeting, forecasting, and modeling tools.
  • Prepare and input monthly/quarterly expense forecast following Agency calendar.
  • Prepare journal entries in accordance with accounting guidelines and monthly close schedule.
  • Collaborate with Accounting team to ensure monthly results are accurate and in line with expectations.
  • Analyze and explain any revenue and expense variances against annual plan/forecast/prior year.
  • Effectively manage and communicate budget and forecast timelines to the client finance team.

Client Profitability

  • Prepare and analyze monthly P&L.
  • Monitor and analyze agency results.
  • Maintain ongoing staffing matrix and reports on a monthly/quarterly basis as needed.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis as directed by supervisor.

Other

  • Ad-hoc projects as assigned.
  • Support finance system administration.

Desired Skills & Experience

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience service industry background a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, high-level Excel functionality encouraged
  • Experience with budgeting/forecasting, financial modeling highly valued
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into meaningful solutions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a wide range of partners to drive decision making
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Familiarity with NetSuite a plus
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles required

What are The Marketing Store Perks + Benefits

The Marketing Store Benefits Overview

TMS is incredibly flexible. We have summer hours from early May through late September. Outside of that, we have a work from home policy where we encourage employees to have a good work/life balance. Our benefits are effective the first day of hire-there’s no sort of waiting period! All of our medical plans are all PPO’s while still offering a wide variety of high deductibles and lower deductible plans. There are two dental plans that employee can pick from along with a vision plan. We have unique benefits such as pet insurance, organ donor leave, an extended parental leave, an adoptive leave policy, legal insurance, auto & home insurance, etc. Life insurance and AD&D is covered at not once the employee’s annual salary, but twice! We have tuition reimbursement to assist employees with going back to school and continuing to develop themselves. We also offer a student loan repayment plan to help employees with financial support to help reduce their loans. There’s an onsite gym that is free for employees with a full service locker that employees can take advantage off. There’s a wellness program that employees can partake in that is based off a point system where employees can turn those points into dollars and receive lots of cool, free gifts such as Amazon gift cards, apple watches, etc. A company perk program is offered where employees can sign up and get discounts off certain retail stores, flights, hotels, etc. A Referral bonus plan is offered to employees who refer employees to join the company. There’s an annual bonus and salary increase that dependent on company’s financials and employee performance. There are several gyms that we partner with to give a gym discount. There’s a traditional 401(k) plan that we offer with a match, but we also generously offer profit sharing an annual basis.
