The Director, Marketing Finance will lead the Global Marketing Finance Team and report directly into the Vice President, Commercial Finance. We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and passionate about helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work? Why don't you start by meeting some of the finance professionals around the world who are re-inventing the finance model at Groupon.

You'll spend time on the following:

  • Overseeing the Global Marketing P&L, including day-to-day operations, forecasting and planning cycles, month end close variance analysis and global spend allocation

  • Managing and leading a high-performing Global Marketing Finance team, based in Chicago and London -- overseeing talent development, process standardization and task prioritization to ensure Marketing Finance is maximizing its benefit to the business

  • Leveraging data and financial analysis to provide actionable insights to the Marketing Leadership team and drive business decisions

  • Partnering effectively with senior business and finance leaders globally, demonstrating self awareness and maintaining poise and composure in a dynamic environment

  • Serving as the Finance expert for all marketing channels, partnering with senior leadership across global Marketing, Operations and Finance teams to align on strategy and maximize return on investment

  • Performing deep analysis on broad customer behavioral shifts, like the migration toward mobile devices and away from web. Evaluating financial implications and providing senior leadership with specific and actionable guidance

  • Providing insights and financial support around driving customer lifetime value, lifecycle management and customer growth

We're excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (MBA preferred)

  • 15+ years of experience in Finance leadership roles, ideally in both large companies and high growth, fast-paced companies; specific experience in Marketing Finance preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication and business partnership skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize complex data to help achieve strategic and operational goals

  • Experience in managing and developing a global team

  • Highly analytical, strategic thinker who has a results oriented and “builder” mentality – identifies problems quickly and is eager to build innovative solutions

  • Superior intellect and a true business partner – capable of contributing to broader business conversations beyond their functional expertise

  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment

  • Strong business judgment and excellent project management skills
