What You Will Do

SPINS’ Financial Partners Group is focused on helping financial investors; find, analyze and invest in winning brands. The team uses SPINS industry-leading Natural, Organic, and Specialty Products Retail Market Information in combination with robust consumer information, analytics and strategic analyses to generate powerful insights. Comprised of experienced and entrepreneurial CPG, Retail and Financial professionals, the team is dedicated to delivering unparalleled services and solutions to the investor community. This high visibility, high impact part of our business builds and shapes how today’s leading investors leverage SPINS’ for sourcing brands, due diligence and brand growth for one of the fastest growing industries in today’s market.

Our Senior Associate Customer Solutions will be the domain expert pertaining to customer success, and product development working in our (Investor and Consulting channel) providing best in class customer experience, while uncovering opportunities to enhance or create new SPINS solutions that can be leveraged to drive growth. The Senior Associate will lead the overall customer experience of all partnering investors, on-boarding and continuous education and training, partner with SPINS internal departments to provide resolution to client concerns, take key-learnings from customer interaction and provide product new/enhancements product recommendations, and act as the project manager when in new or enhancement product development stage. This individual must be able to navigate relationships from the associate to the most senior level across both the investor and consulting channel. The Senior Associate must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently, and develop relationships within SPINS, Client and prospect organizations to enhance the growth of SPINS’ Financial Partners Group and correlating SPINS’ practice areas.

Customer Success (25%)

  • Team lead on all partner and client related on-boarding, training and service level engagements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data issues and provide a 24 hour turnaround on data requested by the client.
  • Deliver rich client engagement that leads to long-term partner and client partnership renewals.
  • Keen ability to understand user experience, and proactively stay ahead of their needs.

Partnership Management (25%)

  • Provide executive level customer success summaries on partners and clients.
  • Assist in preparation for quarterly and annual review meetings, creating and/or updating various presentation materials and customer success dashboards.
  • Strong account management, analytical, critical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills.

Partnership Business Development 50%)

  • Ability to hold discovery conversations with prospects, and clients finding opportunities between their needs and SPINS capabilities.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • Be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form to all stakeholders.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial-mindset; be a business-builder.
  • Passion for creating products that solve clients, partners and targets business questions.
  • Ability to design strong, new product ideas to grow SPINS competitive edge.

The position reports to the SPINS Financial Partners Principal, will be based in our Chicago office, and may require up to 25% travel.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred in Marketing, Marketing Research, Marketing Analytics, Finance, Sales and Business Marketing or Entrepreneurship
  • 2+ years of Consumer Research/Insights experience; with a passion for understanding consumer shopping and buying behavior
  • 2+ years of working with PE/VC firms, Investment banks, CPG M&A divisions or blue-chip Consulting firms
  • 2+ years of experience with National Consumer Panel or other "diary" panel data
  • 2+ years of analyzing and drawing shopper insights with longitudinal or diary-type consumer data
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Passion for the natural products and health & wellness industries
  • Strong research, marketing, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to proactively identify potential client concerns and quickly provide resolutions with minimal guidance
