The Manager, Technical Accounting, will play a key role in Hyatt’s quarterly and annual impairment process and monthly Development Committee and Asset Management Committee process. This individual will analyze non-routine transactions and research complex, ad hoc accounting questions.

This individual will work closely with development finance, asset management, treasury, tax, regional finance, corporate accounting, and commercial services teams.

Additionally, this individual will be responsible for the review of quarterly and annual US GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists and certain disclosures included in the Company’s 10-Q and 10-K. A successful candidate for this role will be strong in technical accounting, financial reporting, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Review quarterly and annual impairment and CECL analyses.

Perform accounting research and review technical accounting memos that document the Company’s accounting conclusions related to non-routine transactions.

Review new accounting pronouncements analysis quarterly and assist with implementation as needed.

Provide accounting research to Business Units and other members of the finance organization to ensure property application of US GAAP to unique or unusual transactions.

Review US GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists quarterly and annually.

Review of new or amended contracts and related accounting impacts.

Review support to be provided to external and internal auditors for the Hyatt Hotels Corporation audit.

Review materials for the Company's Audit Committee of the Board of Directors' meetings.

Review certain footnotes in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Review new or revise existing accounting policies of the Company.

Participate in assigned special projects as needed.

Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values.

Experience

Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting and/or public accounting.

SEC and financial reporting experience a plus

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job

Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Hyperion knowledge a plus

The Hyatt Corporate Office is located along the Chicago River within Chicago's Loop neighborhood. It is close to train stations, bus stops, restaurants and nightlife.
