The Pricing and Promotions team brings together Marketing, Product Management and Data Science to drive conversion and grow margins through pricing, promotions and price display. Our team combines a strategic mindset, analytical thinking, and operational horsepower to drive business value.

 

As a Pricing and Promotions Analyst, you will be engaged in: delivering insights on pricing and profitability, designing promotions, developing and sizing business initiatives, participating in A/B test design and analysis.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Analyze trends and deliver insights on pricing and promotion performance.

  • Develop, size and track the success of business initiatives around pricing, price display and promotions.

  • Set the Groupon promotional calendar, and collaborate with Merchandising and Push Marketing to design promotional tests and treatments.

  • Oversee the price setting process, manage several pricing programs and serve as an expert on pricing issues.

  • Define promotional exclusion rules to maximize gross profit.

  • Collaborate with Data Science, Product Management and Engineering to design better promotional and pricing systems, improve deal pricing and provide a better customer experience.

  • Participate in A/B test design and analysis, conduct deep-dives and help guide product and marketing strategy.

  • Be a key part of setting pricing and promotional strategy.

 

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or similar field

  • 1-2+ years of professional experience with data analytics

  • Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to effectively articulate insights and recommend actions

  • You are an excellent communicator (written and verbal) and have experience translating business objectives and problems into analytic problems, and analytic solutions into actionable business solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and decisions (not just report on analytics)

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel

  • Intermediate level SQL experience. R and Tableau  a plus

  • Prior experience with pricing, A/B testing or e-commerce a plus

  • You're a creative problem solver who finds problems and recommends effective plans of action, figuring out "the how" by troubleshooting and solving problems with data

  • An independent and motivated learner; you find the right people within the organization to teach you what you're trying to learn

  • You thrive working on multiple projects with cross-functional teams in a rapidly changing environment
