Numerator's Revenue Accountant will be responsible for the day to day sales contract administration, revenue analysis and general accounting functions for the company. The Revenue Accountant will work in the finance team, but work closely with the sales team to ensure timely and accurate internal and external reporting of revenue and Annual Contract Value (ACV). The revenue accountant will report to the Manager, Revenue Accounting and support the finance team by performing day-to-day accounting tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities include: 

  •  Review and record sales contracts and set up revenue and billing schedules for the finance team
  •  Calculate and manage monthly commission reports
  •  Update revenue forecasts, track contract renewals and manage the company wide metrics around ACV and revenue
  •  Notify the finance and sales teams of upcoming renewal deadlines
  •  Determine monthly accruals for unbilled revenue per contract schedules
  •  Prepare ad hoc reporting for management and the sales team
  •  Assist with the annual third party audit as well as occasional internal audit procedures over revenue and contracts
  •  Create processes and procedures to streamline revenue accounting and the contract process
  •  Maintain controls around the revenue process to ensure accurate revenue reporting
  •  Stay current on GAAP revenue recognition criteria
  •  Assist with the preparation of recurring and month-end close journal entries
  • Prepare calculation and schedules to support general ledger accounts


Experience Required:

  •  Bachelor's OR associate degree OR relevant previous experience in accounting, finance, or business administration
  •  2+ years of relevant business experience in an accounting role with exposure to accounting for contracts or revenue
  •  Advanced understanding of GAAP revenue recognition and deferred revenue
  •  General knowledge of accounting concepts
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •  Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills 
  • Self-starter able to manage a significant workload and balance competing high priority tasks
  •  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, most importantly Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, and data manipulation and organization techniques)
  •  Experience in NetSuite a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus
