As a Senior Risk Manager you will be based in Chicago and will lead the non-financial risk implementation within the head office operating in a successful international Asset Management business, reporting to the Global Head of Non-Financial Risk, manage the Non-Financial Risk function and provide leadership and guidance to direct staff. Provide thought leadership, consultation, and participation in business decisions with peers and senior management. The incumbent will provide consultation and advice on risk related matters whilst maintaining close working relationships with the key stakeholders to provide alignment with policies and approaches across the business. This role will act as the lead for local contact for Non-Financial Risk queries, and work as part of the global NTAM Risk team.

1. Reviews, disseminates, and interprets risk management policies, frameworks and procedures. Works to proactively establish and document related policies, procedures and standards within the parameters of any relevant laws and regulations.

2. Ensure the function provides advisory services on risk matters and work proactively with business contacts and management to identify and implement effective and efficient solutions, e.g. new products and initiatives.

3. Lead the function to perform independent loss event investigations and lessons learnt analysis, document findings in accordance with operational risk management standards.

4. Independently analyze business change activities to ensure risks are identified and aligned with risk appetite.

5. Provides independent challenge for technology related risk items. This includes technology/digital development initiatives, Cloud technology, Cyber events, Data loss and disaster recovery.

6. Provide the necessary guidance and oversight to first line business units to ensure adherence with the group non-financial risk initiatives (including incident Management, RCSA, Operational Resiliency, etc.)

7. Supports the Global Chief Risk Officer when liaising with regulators, governance specialists and internal/external auditors.

8. Develop and produce non-financial risk focused reporting to feed into the local and global governance committees.

9. Participates in and/or presents to senior management and/or Board committees as appropriate.

Experience:• 5 or more years of dedicated second line Risk Management experience. • 10 or more years of Financial Services industry experience.• Thorough knowledge of Corporate, industry and Business Unit activities, compliance related requirements and risk mitigation techniques, is required to manage the function. • Analytical and communication skills are required to review/approve policies and procedures and to work with line areas to oversee and manage risk activities.
