Software Engineer, Tools & Infrastructure
Job Purpose
As a Software Engineer in Test, you’ll play a critical role in building and deploying our technology at speed without sacrificing quality. Work closely with developers, product managers, operations engineers and fellow SETs to deliver new products and features. Create scalable and efficient test automation to verify functionality and performance against real-world scenarios and data. Plan, code, debate, learn and share, in a challenging and rewarding work environment.
Essential Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Design, document, develop and execute test plans from requirements and specs
- Help design, implement and run load / performance testing
- Define, code, organize and maintain automated regression test suites
- Collaborate with product engineering when specialized testing tools are needed
- Identify, reproduce and report defects, suggest enhancements
- Collaborate with test and development engineers to improve and evangelize build / test automation
- Work closely with developers to deliver stories in an agile environment
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years proven success in a software development or test automation role
- Experience with one or more compiled languages, such as: Java, Go, C#, C++
- Experience with one or more scripting languages, such as: Unix shell, Python, Ruby, PERL or Powershell
- Familiarity with Linux
- Experience with at least one test framework, such as: JUnit, NUnit, TestNG, RSpec, Cucumber, Jasmine, Robot Framework
- Ability to write clean and readable test code
- Ability to deconstruct complex problems into smaller parts
- Effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills
- Effective time-management, organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong sense of responsibility, accountability and passion about quality of work, desire to learn and take ownership

- Jenkins or other Automation server
- Docker
- Salt, Ansible, Chef or Puppet or other Configuration Management tools
- SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL or other Database
- Linux or Windows Administration
- SoapUI or VCR
- SIP Protocol
- Performance / Scalability testing
- REST / SOAP Web API testing
- Selenium Webdriver, Grid
- Rails, Node.js, PHP, ASP.NET or other web development framework
