Sr. Director, Commercial Finance

What You'll Do:

The Sr. Director, Commercial Finance is a key member of the Finance team supporting the Sales team. The role will report to the CFO. This role is responsible for business partnering and providing analytical support and actionable insights to the sales management team within Uptake. The successful candidate will have a high proficiency for assimilating data and trends via multiple sources, interpret that information, and translate information into action plans to drive profitable growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Identify key financial and sales trends to drive growth:
    • Partner with key sales leaders to drive growth in market share by identifying opportunities
    • Leverage historical trends analysis to provide direction for sales activities
    • Develop forecast modeling and insights to anticipate sales trends and incorporate business intelligence to help identify opportunities and gaps within the organization
    • Liaise and work with a broad cross-functional team including strategic marketing, FP&A, IT, and others to enhance, implement, and drive adoption of our ever evolving and expanding processes and systems
    • Develop value based commercial models aimed at driving customer deal closures
    • Assess industry KPI's and identify perspective values to inform pricing
    • Lead creative deal structuring, partnering with sales and industry teams
    • Support critical recurring and ad-hoc reporting and analysis to drive the business
    • Analyze internal / external information using data manipulation, correlation and statistical analysis
    • Report on actual sales as compared to sales targets for volume and market share
    • Support the regular Internal & External Business Review Cadence against our key performance indicators and drivers
    • Identifying/leading voice of customer sessions and work with Product to figure out customer needs

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study
  • 10+ years of experience with an emphasis on commercial experience and forecasting. Experience with P&L responsibility, financial planning and pricing management in the Technology industry
  • 5+ years managing a team
  • Experience with Pricing strategies
  • Experience with Financial Modeling
  • Comfortable in internal/external client facing engagements
  • Value Selling experience

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree
  • SaaS Technology experience
  • Industrial experience
  • Comfortable making decisions on your feet
