We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team and handle the day-to-day aspects of our accounting and finance functions. As a Staff Accountant, you will support the team in various financial aspects of the company including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Cash Management. This role will be a “jack-of-all-trades” position with high exposure to the executive team providing the opportunity to learn many aspects of a fast growing tech company (beyond just the Finance function). To be successful in this role, you will understand the demands of, and be adaptable to, a high-growth start-up environment. No task is too big or too small!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure accounts payables are entered, recorded and paid in a timely manner
  • Manage Vendor and Client access to accounting systems
  • Process, manage and reconcile monthly corporate cards
  • Monitor daily cash activity and reconcile statements on a monthly basis
  • Manage and prepare bi-weekly payroll
  • Process, manage and review employee Travel and Expense (T&E) submissions as well as administer T&E system, Concur
  • Monitor accounts receivable collections
  • Handle contract management including a variety of agreements and corporate documents

SUPPORT THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER WITH THE FOLLOWING:

  • Sales Commission and Incentive Plan management
  • Annual external financial statement audit and tax returns
  • Monthly account reconciliations
  • Provide financial analysis as needed
  • Compliance with local, state and federal government tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience (public accounting strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities and general growth pains of an early-stage technology company
  • Exceptional judgment
  • “Roll-up-your-sleeves” entrepreneurial, start-up attitude
  • High technology IQ

Location

We became a distributed workforce in March 2020 as a result of Covid-19 and will remain distributed moving forward. Our Chicago HQ still remains but we want our team to have flexibility around when and where they work.
