EDGE (www.edgescore.com) is a B2B fintech on a mission to expand credit access for consumers historically unserved and underserved by the reports and scores of traditional credit bureaus. Founded in 2021, Edge is part of a larger family of fintech brands that sits underneath our parent company, NinjaHoldings (www.ninjaholding.com). NinjaHoldings’ brands also include CreditNinja, a nationwide online consumer lending business established in 2017, and NinjaCard, a neobanking platform focused on consumers in the emerging credit space.

The EDGE business is at an inflection point where we’ve proven our platform’s value with early adopters and we’re ready to go full-throttle into our target markets. Elevating every aspect of our marketing efforts is a critical element in this planned ramp-up.

We’re hiring an entrepreneurial and versatile Director of Marketing to own our entire marketing function. After a bootstrapped effort over the past several years, the right candidate will bring experience across all of branding, content marketing, events, product marketing, social media, and SEO in order to optimize where we deploy resources for maximum ROI.

You’ll regularly engage with our product, sales, and executive teams to continuously improve EDGE’s go-to-market motion and related deliverables. We’ll work together to craft your primary KPIs with a focus on demand generation and audience development. Experience has taught us that there’s an important difference between results-oriented marketers and “marketing for the sake of marketing” without direct linkage to business objectives.

If we’re all successful, you should expect regular promotions with eventual potential to grow into the Chief Marketing Officer role with a full team supporting you. At the outset, you’ll work with two talented contractors who’ve contributed immensely to EDGE’s branding and customer-facing collateral.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • 30 days – know enough to be dangerous and take on key initiatives already in-flight
  • 60 days – take the reins on full marketing roadmap and extend into new deliverables
  • 90 days – develop comprehensive marketing strategy, extending current marketing roadmap
  • 120 days – refresh brand messaging/positioning and all legacy copy as warranted
  • Identify, develop, and curate channels to drive qualified leads
  • Collaborate with marketing contractors (designer & copywriter) to deliver content while creatively standing up additional marketing infrastructure
  • Update and maintain marketing budget for 2025 and beyond

Requirements:

  • 10+ years B2B marketing experience with products in the range of $50K-$500M ACV
  • Track record with direct attribution to lead generation and revenue
  • Breadth and depth across marketing tools to creatively test and learn with all available options
  • Experience leveraging HubSpot for micro-targeting campaigns
  • Capable of both mocking up then fine-tuning collateral in PowerPoint and Word
  • Perfectionist balanced with realism with a keen eye for both design and copy
  • Entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, and hands-on such that no task is beneath you

The ideal candidate is also:

  • Experienced with alternative data/analytics, SaaS, and/or other consumer credit related services
  • Comfortable engaging with internal and external executives on broader strategy and market intelligence
  • Good enough with Adobe, Paint, or even just PowerPoint to whip up simple graphics in a pinch
  • Willing to take the pen from time to time in creating original copy from scratch
  • Capable of learning Google Ads or resourceful in networking to identity cost-effective partners
  • Located in Chicago where much of the EDGE team is in our West Loop office 2-3 days each week or in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area for proximity to hiring manager
