Head of Online Marketing Strategy & Execution
We are seeking an exceptional professional to lead Groupon’s Merchandising. The Head of Online Marketing and Execution will own seven diverse lines of business (Goods, Travel, Things To Do, Health & Beauty, Restaurants, Home & Auto and Retail) to market to 50M+ consumers and deliver over $3.9B gross billings in North America.
This key leadership role will optimize messaging across 1.3B weekly email and push consumer touchpoints. The Head of Merchandising will oversee Merchandising teams supporting each local business, end to end merchandising operations, and all North American asset allocation, merchandising campaign development and calendar management. Core Responsibilities:
Develop asset allocation strategy, campaign development, and promotional activity to deliver P&L
Translate North American business priorities into operational tactics with marketing channels, product teams, GM’s and creative services to achieve financial and strategic goals
Ensure high degrees of collaboration between leaders, dotted line and direct (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Creative Services and Revenue Management)
Take unstructured problems and drive analysis. Ability to manipulate complex data and move past simple insights into actionable recommendations
Conduct statistical tests for merchandising optimization
Optimize workflow and improve processes to maximize cost saving opportunities across the organization
Build a winning culture that encourages innovation which results in significantly enhanced business performance
Build amazing teams; establish motivating stretch objectives for team members that align with company objectives; encourage coaching and mentoring, focus on the development needs of employees and ensure collaboration and teamwork
Effectively balance efficiency improvements and placing bold bets on growth
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in ecommerce and/or general management and/or strategic consulting
Breadth of experience is valuable, e.g. marketing, business strategy, analytics, product, etc. within e-commerce
Must have Merchandising, Online Marketing or P&L experience within e-commerce company with revenues >$100M
A demonstrated track record of development and execution of creative, innovative strategies to meet both the right long term outcomes and short term results
Demonstrated strength in conceptual strategy and execution
