Job Duties

Engineering City Scholar Intern effective Wednesday, January 22nd 2020 (the “Start Date”). The Internship will end on May 6th, 2020 (the “End Date”). City Scholars interns are expected to work 20 hours per week, and the wages for students in this program are set at $25.00 per hour paid to the student by the company.

Work Schedules:

• Schedules will be arranged between student and supervisor and agreed upon by the student and company.
• Students will work two days per week for eight hours, and one day per week for 4 hours (8/8/4) OR
• Students will work two days per week for seven yours, and one day per week for 6 hours (7/7/6)
• Supervisors will ensure that students’ weekly schedules allow them to attend class and other City Scholars requirements.
• Since student class times are yet to be determined, specific days and work hours will be decided together by January 8th, at least 2 weeks before employment begins.

Qualifications

Bachelors, Masters, and PhD students are eligible for the Jumpstart program. If you have knowledge, through coursework or project work, of Java/Python programming, this opportunity is right for you; Tensorflow, Hadoop, Spark, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript knowledge is also preferred. We’re looking for candidates who offer strong collaborative skills and work well with a team. A strong interest in computer science and/or related fields is essential to the success of each intern.
