We are looking for highly motivated and innovative applicants to participate in our Paid Summer Internship Program as a member of our Data Strategy and Solutions team. This team engages with clients across the industry to better understand their use case and data needs, working internally with our operations department to help increase our standard offerings and support the development of custom solutions.

Applicants should be detail-oriented, eager to learn, resourceful, and team players and interested in research completed by Universities and Nonprofits. Specifically, this internship program is open to all students entering their junior or senior year in college as an undergraduate, students within their graduate degree programs, as well as recent college graduates. Applicants must be available to commit 40 hours per week.
 

Responsibilities: 

In an effort to support scientific studies and research, Label Insight provides complimentary data access to Universities and Nonprofits. The DSS intern will be responsible for working alongside the team to develop, streamline, prioritize and grow our open data client process.

  • Document the open data client process.
  • Liaise with the team to create reach out and leave behind materials.
  • Observe and assist in open data client pitches, demos, and training sessions.
  • Work alongside the DSS and Data Operations teams to document methodologies which can be used by Universities in peer reviewed research papers.
  • Research and develop priority list of target open data clients.
  • Document cutting edge and relevant research occuring in the industry.

Requirements:

  • Entering junior or senior year of college, within a graduate school program, or a recent college graduate studying nutrition, food science, public health, or another relevant field.
  • Strong interest in research and data in the CPG and food supply industry.
  • Incredible attention to detail and drive towards high quality work.
  • Experience assisting in or writing peer reviewed research.

At the end of this internship you will be able to:

  • Gained experience working at a unique and dynamic startup company.
  • Manage a large project from conception through to successful delivery.
  • Define and set smart goals enabling progress reports throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Be familiar with and understand the data needed to support current and cutting edge industry research.
  • Understand the companies goals and help set targets and priorities for future development and provide summary documentation.
  • Liaise with professionals from various disciplines including dietetics, data analysis, marketing, and business development.
