Quality Assurance Intern

The Role and Responsibilities

myownowndoctor is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Intern to join our team in Chicago. This is an opportunity to get real-work experience in a high-growth, digital health company that operates in a fast and continuous release cycle. If you are smart, organized, have a passion for technology and an entrepreneurial spirit, this role could be a good fit for you.

Specifically, the QA Intern will:

  • Test the system continuously throughout the day under different scenarios
  • Create testing workflows and test matrix documentation
  • Find, document and report bugs, performance and UI issues and work with the Development team to ensure resolution
  • Prepare regular company-wide internal updates, memos, emails and other types of communications on the status and performance of the system, issues, and risks
  • Analyze internal process for reporting and resolving issues and recommend and implement process improvements
  • Collaborate with the Development team to ensure new features and capabilities pass QA protocols prior to public release to customers
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Marketing to collect data on the issues most frequently encountered by customers, educate customers on bug fixes and product enhancements, and update and create training materials
  • Release new builds and versions in the App Store on behalf of the company and ensure associated documentation is up to date and accurate

 

Skills and Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has completed 2+ years of Bachelor’s coursework in computer or information science, engineering, mathematics, management information systems, or a related course of study
  • Is interested in the software application support, testing, or QA field
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Drive
  • Is a self-motivated, problem solver with excellent communication skills and a positive mindset

Hours: 32-40 hours per week in our office in the River North neighborhood of Chicago.

Start Date: Knowing that different schools are on different schedules, we are flexible as to start and end dates. 

Term: A minimum 12-week commitment, which may be renewed based on mutual agreement. 

Pay: This is an unpaid position, but will provide significant work and networking experience to build your skills and grow your career. You’ll work in an office alongside two other fast-growing startups, so you will have the opportunity to meet others with similar passions and interests and get involved on a variety of different projects from the ground up.

School Credit: We will work with you to obtain course credit if your school supports internships for credit.
