Job Description Summary
As a Lead for Monitoring and Incident Response, you will manage the process to identify and restore normal service operation as quickly as possible to minimize impact to the business. You will take charge of all incidents and ensure they are being addressed promptly. You will ensure we have the correct monitoring in place and you will validate that accountable groups are alerted when defined criteria is met. You will report the details of incidents and produce a regular report of our incident response activities. You will occasionally be needed to work out-of-hours and be reachable outside of the office.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning and coordinating all the activities required to perform, monitor, and report on the incidents
- Responsible for communicating with stakeholders and users
- Point of contact for all Major Incidents. Ensure accountable technology team members are taking action and aligned on response
- Responsible for incorporating new applications, offices, power sites, etc into the Monitoring platform and Incident Management process
- Monitor the incidents to ensure that the Service Level Agreement is being met
- Identify, initiate, schedule and conduct incident reviews and root cause analysis
- Ensure the closure, with consistent messaging, of all end-user tickets related to incidents.
- Provide periodic review of the Incident Response plan and incorporate changes to process as necessary
- You will review and refine existing monitoring configurations to ensure our team is addressing alerts
- Working with our technical teams, you will create new alerts as needed to monitor critical business functions
- You will proactively monitor for performance issues or disruptions and submit tickets/declare incidents as a result
- You will produce regular metrics of incidents details and improve monitoring dashboards
- Adhere to the company’s values and behaviors
- Participate in Out-of-Hours work as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in an information technology related field
- Technology certifications preferred, not required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a monitoring/incident management role
