Purpose

The Lean Startup Consultant is responsible for UX design thinking. More specifically, the role tests the viability of innovative concepts and their alignment with business objectives…one could even call them “Business Designers.” This unique role utilizes lean methodologies to rapidly experiment with ideas and concepts to create a value proposition for clients.

The Lean Startup Consultant will lead and work alongside visual designers, testers, and user researchers. Together, the team will execute design exercises to create product prototypes. The ultimate goal of this team is to efficiently and purposefully bring the client’s idea to life and optimize it for success.

Non-Negotiable Must Have’s

• Amazing facilitation skills. Ability to lead meetings and create engaging presentation decks and deliver them with ease. Capability to read a room and make adjustments as necessary on the fly.

• Eye for design. Confidence in transforming inquiry into reality and comfortable sketching, wireframing, and story mapping…perhaps you have a design portfolio showcasing your work?

• Concrete understanding of testing methodologies. Knowledge of what tests are appropriate in certain circumstances such as qualitative versus quantitative. Adaptability and understanding of when to pivot and head in a different direction.

• Demonstrated success in leadership and consulting. Comfortable taking the wheel, coaching and mentoring the design and client teams, including C-suite executives. 

Nice to Have

• Involvement in digital product experience design
• Intuitive creativity, applying data and testing to create the best product
• Designing and executing overarching test plans and cycles
• Understanding of MVP Concierge, when and how to utilize it
• Experience with Google Design Sprints and learning cycles
• Intuitive creativity, utilizing data and testing to create the best product
• 3+ years working as a Lean Startup Consultant or similar
• Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred
