Fundamental Components
•Supporting provider contracting activities; drafting, negotiating and reviewing client, vendor and partner agreements, statements of work and amendments, tracking status of agreements from initial draft to execution.
•Providing legal, public policy, and as appropriate, business counseling with respect to new and existing business activities
•Assisting in obtaining legal/regulatory authorization to carry on the new and existing business activities of the Company
•Analyze contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and corporate policies; advise Sales, Client Service staff and bswift leadership on legal contractual matters.
•Provide contractual guidance to business team members ensuring compliance with agreements and corporate policies.
•Manage and direct outside counsel on an efficient and cost-effective basis.
•Monitor the contract renewal process by maintaining a database of contracts, renewal dates and status.
•Prepare legal memoranda and research legal issues.
•Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of contract issues.
•Other duties as assigned.
Background Experience
•The minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a JD. Must hold a license to practice law from any United States state.
•3+ years of transactional/contract law experience (including drafting, reviewing and negotiating), preferably in a corporate, in-house legal setting.
•Excellent communication, negotiation and writing skills.
•Experience and knowledge in risk management and evaluation.
•Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with rapid response time.
•Professional demeanor and team player
