As Manager of the administration team, you will lead a team and help maintain the server infrastructure. You will interact with almost every department inside the company to ensure that the critical infrastructure is running at peak performance. Overseeing the deployment of new environments while streamlining procedures to maximize efficiency.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration team to make sure all areas of the company are properly maintained
  • Create and oversee advancement plans for team members
  • Coordinate between numerous teams across different time zones
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues with network, server, and application infrastructure
  • Repair and recover from hardware and software failures while coordinating and communicating with the appropriate engineering teams
  • Monitor and identify systems performance issues
  • Communicate issues to stakeholder effectively and in a timely fashion
  • Provide documentation of configuration and troubleshooting procedures to facilitate other team members and departments
  • Support engineering teams on system deployments and performance optimizations
  • Support proprietary applications
  • OS installation using remote installation tools (PXE/foreman)
  • Close daily interaction between other system administrators, DBAs, and developers
  • Mentor  junior team members
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and task automation and team member skill development

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • 2 years management experience of a team
  • 5 to 7 years Linux Server Experience
  • Experience with Bash, Python, or Perl scripting
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (Nagios, PagerDuty, etc)
  • Dell Server Platforms (Rack Mount, Blades and Blade Chassis)
  • Dell Server Management platform (iDRAC)
  • Experience working in a support capacity with Dell rack and blade servers
  • Familiar with Open Source Platforms
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills through resolution; understanding problem from the network, OS, and application levels
  • Superb documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with service partners and vendors
  • Ability to be on call on a rotating basis
  • Excellent organization skills, project tracking abilities, communications skills, and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications 

  • RHCSA, LFCSA, Linux + or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Experience in an Administration or NOC environment in a plus.
  • College Degree or equivalent experience
  • This is for a 24/7/365 environment, the possibility of working overnights and weekends exists for all team members.
