We're in a unique position to impact everyone in primary care from independent, family-owned practices to world-class health systems. As part of achieving this goal, we are seeking a Content Marketing Strategist to partner with our Product Development team in leading the successful development of our internal website which provides tools and resources for our employees. We are looking for a contractor who can manage 20 – 25 hours a week of project-based work for approximately six months, initially. Beyond that, we’d ideally like to maintain an ongoing relationship with this person as our need for support evolves.

This person will continue work on the development of our internal wiki site, which aims to deliver our clinical and operational methodologies in a compelling, user-friendly, easy-to-access, digital manner to all our market operators and clinician partners. The strategist will lead the conversion of all methodologies from their current MS Word format to the digital platform. They will also lead email, newsletter and other technology platform campaigns to raise awareness about certain topics or products relevant to markets. This person will coordinate, execute, and support projects in a variety of channels including email, newsletter, social media.

Some key responsibilities for this person include:

  • Creating designs, concepts and web layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts
  • Profiling user needs and understanding how users may access/use the products to be designed
  • Proposing user-friendly, wireframes to deliver an easy, compelling user experience, based on informational hierarchy; these wireframes would be created based off detailed methodologies and MS Word documentation
  • Leading website design once proposals are finalized
  • Leading UX in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including product ideation and definition, design, user research and usability testing
  • Working alongside the Product Development team to develop engaging digital and non-digital content, designs, social media images, web content, and newsletters; assisting with content creation, copywriting, and proof-reading; including converting heavy text into compelling infographics and illustrations
  • Working with the marketing team to ensure brand consistency
  • Planning and executing internal marketing campaigns to promote products (email campaigns, but also identifying other means to disseminate clinical and operational content to our employees)
  • Defining and refining the user experience of features and products to achieve company goals
  • Presenting objectives, illustrations, design approach, and creative solutions to stakeholders in an articulate and persuasive manner
  • Analyze usage of website and present analytics reports on site visits

What you bring to VillageMD:

  • Strong design skills with a focus in composition and typography
  • Ability to leverage features of MS Word and PowerPoint for documentation purpose
  • Experience authoring technical documentation on Wiki platform
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, MadCap Flare or Atlassian Confluence
  • Experience creating content for social media is a huge plus
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, be deadline oriented, and possess a desire to learn
  • Ability to work remotely while collaborating across a team
  • Ability to operate using sound judgement and identify process improvement opportunities

Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses, Experience:

  • Strong graphic design skills as well as basic marketing knowledge
  • Requires two years’ experience or equivalent in a graphic design role
  • Graphic design portfolio required
  • Experience with user-centered design methodologies, including information architecture, wire framing, prototyping, interaction flows and user research
  • Demonstrated proficiency with design tools (including Adobe Suite and Axure)
  • Understanding of software programming (i.e. HTML, Java script, and other computer software languages) in order to liaise with the software implementation team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • A portfolio of your work must be included in your resume to be considered

This is a contract position (20 – 25 hours/week). The position is remote with no travel expected. If you are in the Chicagoland area, there is the opportunity to meet with team members in-person as needed.
