About the Role

G2 is looking for a Director of Content Marketing who takes our performance to the next level. This role directs three content teams and experts in subscriber marketing, relationship management, and conversion optimization. It’s instrumental to the success of building the buyer side of our B2B software marketplace. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, an understanding of what high quality looks like, and drive performance on data-informed decisions.

Responsibilities

Structure

  • Be the owner of Content Marketing at G2
  • Lead and manage three content teams and our email, conversion, and relationship management experts
  • Report to the VP SEO + CONTENT
  • Partner with our research, sales, and technical SEO teams

Ownership

  • Improve our abilities to measure the impact of content and campaigns
  • Report performance to various stakeholders
  • Drive our contributor network and guest posting program in collaboration with our relationships manager
  • Own our keyword + content strategy, editorial calendar, and editorial guidelines in collaboration with the pod team leaders
  • Own and increase traffic, subscribers, referral traffic to www.g2.com, and impact on revenue
  • Grow our reach on social media channels, such as Twitter, Quora, GrowthHackers, and Reddit
  • Own the content marketing roadmap and feed it with creative ways to reach our goals

The ideal candidate has:

  • +5 years of experience in content marketing with a proven track record of achieving goals and leading high-performance teams (min. size of 5 members)
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Ability to influence & drive change throughout the organization
  • Experience in SEO, marketing automation, conversion optimization, and organic social management
  • Strong qualities in clear written and verbal communication
  • A reputable personal brand and footing in the content marketing industry
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and inclination toward telling stories with data
  • A sharp understanding of what outstanding content quality looks like
  • The drive to create a positive and inclusive culture
