Director of Digital Marketing

As part of achieving this goal, the Marketing and Communications team is the expert in telling our organization’s story in a consistent and disciplined way and creating the tools necessary for our employees and partners to consistently support and amplify our brand message. Integral to the team, the Director of Digital Marketing will collaborate with our technology team and agency partners to lead the development and implementation of our digital strategy across the enterprise. This is a high exposure role with an acute focus on demonstrating value to our employees and partners through sharing creative ideas and collaboration on critical projects.

The ideal person for this role has a track record of building and developing relationships and integrated digital programs, overseeing UX research and design, developing the website and mobile strategy, the social media strategy, digital advertising approach and other channel programs. You have a depth of experience in the healthcare industry and can spearhead digital marketing campaigns focused on healthcare professionals and patients. As a demonstrated leader, you will to help grow the business through relationship building and helping to unlock new value for our employees and physician partners. Ability to navigate within ambiguity, a service orientation, and a high level of humility are all requirements for successful assimilation into our highly collaborative, entrepreneurial culture.

While this role will be dynamic in nature, key responsibilities of the Director of Digital Marketing include:

  • Developing and executing the digital vision and strategy and managing projects and initiatives related to VillageMD and Village Medical brands
  • Partnering with Technology on our website strategy; identifying key objectives and goals at the enterprise and product level that will meet business needs as we plan for continued growth
  • Collaborating with the Director of Communications on our social strategy execution and management to ensure we are telling the right stories and employing the right tools that align with business objectives
  • Developing and applying digital content strategies across the digital ecosystem and ensuring the critical stakeholders are engaged to deliver against goals and objectives
  • Driving organizational growth through executing digital marketing strategies that generate brand awareness, patient volume, patient loyalty and new physician partnerships
  • Overseeing digital advertising and campaign management including paid search, paid media, social and content sponsorships, as well as patient engagement
  • Leading agency partners to deliver against the outlined plans
  • Serving as strategic digital advisor for internal clients and our partners by providing ongoing thought leadership
  • Enhancing end-user experience of our patient portal, Athena (EMR), through revising messaging, UX, skin, and content writing
  • Launching a mobile and app strategy that will support VillageMD and Village Medical brands
  • Aligning all agency work with overall corporate and market strategy and plan
  • Providing a high level of service and support to the business; successfully integrating into the corporate services and market operations team, and taking a partnership approach to getting things done
  • Internalizing business and market feedback to inform and if necessary adjust strategy execution

What you bring to VillageMD:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or a relevant field required
  • A minimum of 10 - 15 years of progressive business experience; recent experience in a digital marketing leadership role
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital marketing technologies and best practices, from search marketing and web design to social media advertising, influencer marketing, lead generation, and application development
  • Experience working with CMS systems, familiarity with EMRs preferred, but not required
  • Preferred experience working in a grassroots marketing environment
  • Healthcare experience and public company experience preferred
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence; can integrate with a team, engender trust and leverage relationships to get work done
  • Proven project management skills evidenced by the ability to effectively coordinate multiple vendors and resources, meet deadlines and adhere to budgets
  • Hands on approach including strong command of details
  • An optimistic outlook and “can do” attitude
  • You have a keen focus on results, and can navigate within ambiguity while maintaining a high-level of humility
