Are you passionate about building a brand, communicating to a targeted audience, and delivering tangible results?  How about doing it for hundreds of brands?

TappedIn is a tech-enabled marketing and analytics company that connects consumers and the food & beverage industry at the critical point-of-purchase.  We deploy and manage a suite of solutions in the bar and restaurant space that engage, inform, and build relationships guests, all while capturing massive amounts of data.  Our non-traditional approach focuses on owning the end customer relationship, digital real estate on the platforms, and the data collected across our network.  We compile and synthesize this data to help our clients and our beer, wine and spirit partners be more successful while creating value for consumers.

We are still in the startup phase but have a fully functioning platform, paying customers, a differentiated solution that focuses on real market problems, and have successfully completed a pilot with one of the biggest beer companies in the world.  We are building TappedIn to scale and scale quickly. 

We are looking for an experienced yet extremely hungry marketing professional to lead our marketing efforts for both our clients as well as our own initiatives.   We use several channels to push our marketing messages that you would be overseeing, including WiFi (our flagship solution), websites, email, SMS, digital signage, social media and print.  Yeah, that’s a lot, and you’ll either have to be or become an expert in all of them.  Are you scalable and ready for an opportunity to make a real difference?  We need someone who answers “hell yes” to this question as we are expecting rapid growth.

 

The ideal candidate will have many of these Skills and Experiences, or at least be capable of getting up to speed quickly:

Design: You don’t have to be a graphic artist, but we’ll need you to have an eye for design, familiarity with UX, and have at least moderate design software skills including:

  • Adobe Software: Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign.
  • Ability to modify tweak client logos and create various image files, design and modify existing flyers, email templates, and sales collateral.
  • User Experience: Basic UX and UI design knowledge.
  • Some HTML and CSS skills would be helpful (ability to tweak existing code, not build from scratch).

Marketing:

  • Strategy:  Strategic mind able to create marketing strategies for our clients as well as our internal marketing initiatives. 
  • Omnichannel: Experience successfully executing strategies across several platforms and channels.
  • Social Media Management: Social media experience with a focus on engagement, follower growth, and campaign KPI goals.
  • Email Marketing: Experience with email platforms such as MailChimp with the ability to create visually appealing and effective email campaigns, manage targeted mailing lists, and maximizing open rates.  We also utilize automated campaigns where we schedule automated emails to go out on our client’s behalf based on various triggers.
  • SMS Marketing: General knowledge of texting platforms such as Twilio.
  • CRM: Understanding of CRM’s to keep track of and stay connected with leads.
  • CMS: Working with content management systems to post marketing materials on digital signage.
  • SEO and Paid Search: Optimizing presence on web and social channels to achieve desired results, both for our clients as well as TappedIn.
  • Analytics: Goal setting with defined metrics, monitoring and adjusting based on data.
  • PR/Press Experience: Creating press releases, having relationships with journalists, and/or a knowing how to get stories published about our clients and us.
  • On-Premise Promotions: Many of our clients are bars and restaurants that require an on-premise strategy.  We need to activate their guests at the point-of-purchase and get them to engage our technology solutions.
  • Alcoholic Beverage Marketing: This vertical has specific laws and tactics that we can either use to our advantage or get burned by.  Knowledge of this industry will be very helpful.

Hospitality Industry and/or Alcohol Industry Experience: We love it when our team comes in already understanding the needs of our clients. 

 

Role & Responsibility: So what will you be doing day-to-day? Well, every day will be different, and as you can tell, there are multiple platforms and tasks that you will be doing on any given day.  Some of your activities will include:

  • Work with our team and clients to create marketing initiatives across all of our channels.
  • You will be expected to roll up your sleeves and execute our client’s marketing initiatives until we build a marketing team underneath you.  You have to love the work and want to become an expert in every area!
  • Hire, train and manage marketing managers and interns (we will have a large marketing team).
  • Oversee company and client social media activities (manage social media managers).
  • Manage outsourced designers and developers, ensuring they stick to brand standards and style guides (that you will help create).
  • Help strategize and execute TappedIn’s marketing initiatives geared towards our clients (acquiring more clients) and user base (engaging our user-base, getting them to take action, go to our client’s locations, and consume what our brand partners are promoting).
  • Work with sales team to create collateral, adjust to market demands, create targeted messages and acquisition strategies.
  • Work with marketing teams of corporate partners on strategy and execution.
  • Monitor marketing spends and effectiveness, calculating CAC and LTV, optimizing channel strategies.
  • Manage paid search/marketing initiatives.
  • Much of our work is done remotely with some on-site visits to our clients, so you have to be disciplined and appreciate the non-traditional work environment. 
  • Help create the vision – we need your creativity, experience and talents to build a large network of engaged food & beverage enthusiasts!

Where can you see more about TappedIn?  I know, I know, its crazy that we build websites for our clients but our own isn’t live yet and we manage our client’s social media but aren’t active on our own.  No excuses, but the crazy thing is that we’ve been too busy building them for our clients to focus on our own.  That’s why we need you!
