We are seeking a Director of Partnerships to act as the key point of contact between Virgil and our partners, oversee partnership acquisition and development, manage projects from ideation to execution, and drive day-to-day functional operations. In this role you will not just spot new partnership and business development opportunities, you will hunt them down, sign them, bring them to life, manage and grow them so that everyone wins. This role reports to the Vice President of User Acquisition and Engagement.

This role requires approximately 25% out of state travel.

The Director of Partnerships will help identify and drive partnerships and alliances with an association, education, workforce, nonprofit and other industry organizations that drive value, market penetration, brand exposure and job seeker acquisition for both Virgil and Hcareers properties. As an outside-the-box thinker and creative problem solver who is also detail-oriented and hyper-organized, this person will own partnership strategy and execution, including:

  • Identifying potential partners and opportunities
  • Communicating the strategic vision of the company
  • Pitching to partners and securing partner commitment
  • Internally developing product plans to needs of partners, Virgil and Hcareers
  • Executing on the plans that have been created
  • Developing partner communications and opportunities to communicate with partners’ audiences
  • Managing and growing existing partner relationships
  • Budget management
  • Communicating results

The Director of Partnerships must possess strong project management skills and develop a deep understanding of both our and the client’s product offerings. The person must be extremely comfortable facilitating technical conversations between partners and our engineers. The person must also have a strong knowledge of business and partnership structures. The role will work closely with the User Acquisition and Engagement and Product Development teams.

REQUIREMENTS 

Required

  • 5+ of experience in partnership development, account management, client services, or project management
  • BA/BS degree in marketing, communications or relevant field of study
  • Identified and evaluated opportunities for growth with both new partners and within existing partnerships
  • Managed the successful launch and implementation of new partnerships
  • Negotiated, structured and managed the financial construct of strategic partnerships
  • Familiar with strategic partnership legal documentation
  • Developed detailed technical integration project plans
  • Excellent presentation skills and the development of compelling PowerPoint presentations
  • Defined KPIs for new products/projects

Preferred

  • Utilized project management software solutions (e.g. Jira, Trello, Asana, Basecamp, etc.)
  • Experience selling, building or marketing enterprise / SaaS software solutions
  • Experience in business development and partner marketing
  • Experience defining a partnership strategy, executing on and growing plans and relationships, and measuring and communicating results
  • Experience building project-based financial models using Excel
  • Strong Excel knowledge including pivot tables
  • Experience translating product/partnership requirement to the engineering team

Differentiating

  • Advanced degree (preferably a JD or MBA)
  • Project management certification (e.g. PMP)
  • Product management experience, specifically with SaaS products

Compensation is competitive based on experience
