We're seeking a passionate Director of Product Marketing to drive the go-to-market strategy for our industry-disrupting platform and portfolio. If you choose to accept, your mission will be to creatively collaborate with products, demand gen, creative, customer success, finance, and other team members to identify and drive new product additions to our portfolio as well as successfully launch those products through our go-to-market team. As the Product Marketing Leader, you will successfully position Maropost’s platform and applications in the market to win. You will report to the SVP of Marketing.

 Over the first 3 months, this candidate should develop knowledge of our business, refine the product strategy and definitions, personify our target buyer, and launch new products to market. The Product Marketing leader works with Maropost’s internal marketing team, other go-to-market departments, and potentially outside vendors to craft and drive Maropost’s launch plan and activities. While doing so, this leader is directly responsible for ideating, creating, and delivering to market innovative product marketing assets designed to effectively position Maropost to win in our market.

Responsibilities

-Lead our product marketing team to find product-market-fit for existing and future products

-Develop go-to-market strategy for our enterprise platform and all our enterprise applications, modules, and updates to maximize the success of our sales team

-Partner with product management team to help build outstanding products

-Develop sales enablement tools, including training, battle cards, playbooks and value messaging guides

-Define ideal customer profiles, target personas and value propositions for relevant market segments

-Research competitive products and create competitive analysis materials to enable sales

-Evangelize Maropost to prospects, customers, partners, press & media, analysts, and other key go-to-market stakeholders

-Participate in strategic customer engagements to enable a winning approach to acquiring new business

-Serve as the key driver of our content editorial driver

What You'll Need to Bring to Maropost

The right person will have a balance of marketing, technical, business, and customer skills and experience. In addition, the ideal candidate is an experienced at successfully launching enterprise SaaS products to market through a direct sales channel and driven by metrics aligned with Maropost’s customer acquisition objectives. This results-driven person will have experience building and scaling a product marketing function, and a relentless pursuit of product marketing excellence. Finally, the best candidate will have direct experience in the ESP market segment with another SaaS company, or led the Email marketing efforts of a significant B2C firm.

Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or Marketing with a heavy emphasis on technology and marketing operations

-10+ years of progressive career building in a B2B SaaS product marketing role at an ESP company, or 10+ years building and leading a B2C company’s email and customer engagement team and engine

-Success driving an enterprise-focused B2B product marketing and strategy, or demonstrated experience

building and driving a B2C company’s customer engagement programs

-Proven ability to be an industry driving-force via evangelism, speaking engagements, or other public channels

-Extensive experience developing sales enablement tools, tools that not only get used, but are celebrated by our Sales Team

-Mastery of Product Marketing best practices (e.g., “Pragmatic Marketing,” “SVPG,” or other), or served in the seat of our target buyer for several years

-Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive cross-functional teams and to effectively communicate with stakeholders and all levels of management

-Ability to travel and work flexible hours; must be able to work long hours as needed for events and specific projects

-A sense of urgency and desire to work and win with a team of smart, hard-working and collaborative people

-Use expertise and creativity for innovative marketing recommendations and solutions

-Strong project management, negotiation and decision-making skills

-Natural curiosity for emerging technologies and the ability to apply those technologies to innovative solutions for Maropost and our customers

-Passion for transforming how businesses engage their customers, or prior experience in the industry doing just that

-Loves owning “the product message”, and seeks out evangelism, speaking, and “air time” for Maropost and our product platform

-Simultaneously excellent at analytics and emotional triggers

-Relentlessly focused on the details in each and everything that you do

-Ideally, MBA or other relevant Advanced Degree
