The Growth & Acquisition Strategist will report into the VP of Marketing with a dotted line to the CEO.  He/she will be responsible for helping drive The Tie Bar’s growth strategy through customer segmentation and identifying new customer acquisition channels.  This is a highly analytical role but also requires the ability to execute and have end-to-end ownership: from coming up with the strategy, to overseeing the implementation, to analyzing and interpreting the results.

The Tie Bar is a Chicago-based, direct fashion brand that is disrupting the menswear space. We are the #1 eCommerce destination for high quality, trend-driven accessories at an accessible price, and recently expanded into men’s clothing with the launch of dress shirts and made-to-measure suiting. We're a small, entrepreneurial team with big ambition. We have the wind of a strong brand and established traction at our back.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a strategy to drive online growth through customer acquisition
  • Own new customer acquisition from ideation to implementation – perform customer segmentation, identify new marketing tactics for each segment, test and implement different strategies, and react to results
  • Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty – for example, if you want to test Facebook ads, identify the key customer segments, develop different messaging strategies to test, work with creative teams to develop the ads, implement the ads through the Facebook platform, analyze results to determine optimal messaging strategy for each segment and implement the winning strategies
  • Own acquisition marketing budget – one of the largest spends in the company – determining how to maximize the marketing mix and scale channels that are working to deliver the greatest ROI
  • Create a reporting package for executive board and leadership team to understand the performance of marketing spend
  • Provide insights to support CEO in understanding overall business performance and determining strategic direction
  • Work closely with all teams across the business, gaining exposure to business functions and determining strategies that impact teams, including technology and merchandising

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years management consulting experience or similar
  • Interest in eCommerce, fashion, or retail
  • Interest in working in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • Project management experience and the ability to juggle lots of tasks simultaneously
  • Innovative, forward-thinking, and self-starting mentality – must be able to take ownership and deliver results with little oversight
