As the Campus Relationship Development Manager, you are responsible for the ABA’s on-campus engagement strategy and college brand ambassador program. You will develop and execute a strategic plan designed to increase the ABA’s awareness, visibility, and word-of-mouth at 200+ US law schools.

Leveraging your ability to build personal relationships and deep understanding of college campus marketing, sales, or recruitment, you will build a cohesive localized ABA experience for law students. The job will involve regularly engaging with students, school administrators, and corporate partners. The results will be finely-tuned campus outreach programs that show a measurable long-term impact and ROI, increasing the likelihood law students become dues-paying members of the association over the course of their legal careers.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop with ABA’s Membership Marketing Department a strategic plan for on-campus engagement of law students.  Develops annual plans and contacts to meet/exceed annual membership goals.

  • Fosters new and retains/expands relationship with campus and other corporate and institutional partners.

  • Responsible for strategic direction of existing student brand ambassador program, including oversight of an affiliate rewards program and software platform; coordination and distribution of student rep marketing kits; and maintaining corporate partner relationships. 

  • Responsible for training student representatives of the program, including the development of in person and online training sessions.

  • Solicits and negotiates law student member benefit programs. Responsible for generating revenue, membership, and engagement associated with those programs.

  • Prepares program recommendations for ABA leadership review and approval.

  • Conducts market analysis, RFI/RFPs and performs due diligence for program and membership development efforts, and manages vendors, as appropriate.

  • Proactively maintains contact with partners and key stakeholders on law school campuses (student reps, student influencers, campus administrators, career services, etc.) to ensure that their relationship with the ABA is maintained/expanded.

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university (or equivalent experience).

  • 4-7 years of experience in relationship development and management and/or sales/marketing communications. 

  • Ability to work with senior level clients and managers.

  • Experience with college campus marketing, such as, brand ambassador, sales, recruitment, or membership programs.

  • Understanding of budgeting and business forecast models.

  • Familiarity with CRM database systems and market tracking software.
