Product Marketing Manager


Position Summary:

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for working cross-functionally to guide our products from conception to launch and beyond. This individual will be responsible for defining the product features our customers require, owning the product marketing roadmap, driving our marketing content and campaigns and acting as the spokesperson and subject matter expert for products and product related services.


You take ownership of:

  • Defining, owning, executing and communicating the product marketing lifecycle
  • Overseeing the product launch strategy from discovery through release to lifecycle management
  • Acquiring an in-depth understanding of customers, product, users, integrations, systems, marketing tools and channels in order to build the best possible marketing strategy, including but not limited to proposals, user insights, market positioning, competitor analysis, distribution strategies, product development ideas, etc.
  • Gathering scope and need for new products and features from users, taking into consideration existing product and standard project management constraints as well as available technology, and communicating those to the product management and development team
  • Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to ensure high quality concept development, implementation and rollout of features to our existing and future customers
  • Spearheading marketing enablement efforts by creating and delivering compelling, effective and efficient demos for content authoring and learning experience to our users
  • Acting as the marketing expert and maintaining a positive customer experience through consistent communication, troubleshooting, and periodic feedback and surveys
  • Identifying complimentary social networks and routes to market that will deliver exponential growth to our business


Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or a related field
  • At least 5-7 years of Product Marketing, Product Management / Product Owner experience in platform software startup(s)
  • Experience growing early-stage markets, from inception to mass adoption
  • Experience in end to end market delivery of products powered by demos and presentations to business and technical audiences
  • Experience in conceptualizing, creating and executing marketing campaigns showcasing our products
  • Experience using Salesforce and other marketing tools
  • Experience with product/technology evangelism in 1x1 discussions and industry events / conferences
  • Experience utilizing corporate social media platforms for creating marketing channels
  • Experience with Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence preferred
  • Experience with educational products or pedagogical methods and/or other online learning/content management systems preferred
  • AR / VR experience preferred


Your Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to take new, abstract product ideas through all phases of product management lifecycle
  • Ability to integrate people, data, processes and business systems and provide a product information backbone from development, including research and discovery, design and iterative prototyping, engineering and launch 
  • Ability to incorporate design thinking and visual arts with the goal of simplifying communication through immersive technology  
  • Strong analytical/growth marketing skills, including feature introduction, onboarding and conversion optimization, using quantitative and qualitative user data
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver customer value through product-market fit
  • Self-motivated, number-driven, proactive self-starter with ability to multitask 
  • A proven track record of customer growth shipping products that users love
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced agile software environment 
  • Location:  Chicago preferred
