Cars.com is seeking an enthusiastic, analytical-minded individual to support our Consumer Marketing initiatives. The Cars.com Consumer Marketing Team is responsible for all consumer-facing media, including digital and offline channels and our digital marketing program is robust with cutting-edge tactics and proven strategies. The core of this role is generating and translating complicated digital performance marketing data from a variety of sources into a valuable, data-based analytical story easily digestible for our digital marketing channel stakeholders across the organization. To do this, the candidate must quickly learn and understand the objectives of program and its impact on the Cars.com business. This is vital to the candidate’s ability to successfully deliver actionable insights from the wealth of data at our fingertips.

Critical thinking and data display optimization skills are a must. A candidate must be a highly motivated, positive, organized self-starter who can work well with a variety of tasks and adapt quickly to different business needs and projects. This role is highly visible across all levels of the organization, with frequent and regular interactions with senior management. From day one, a candidate must be accountable, detail oriented, and able to deliver valuable, accurate and professional reports, analysis, presentations, and communications on time.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to develop complex models and scenario plans to guide successful campaign and product launch strategies
  • Manage, run, interpret, and share recurring weekly and monthly performance media campaign results from multiple marketing channels (Paid Search, Digital Display, Social, Email, etc.) with partners throughout the organization
  • Provide solicited and unsolicited ad-hoc reports and analysis that are immediately actionable by stakeholders at all levels
  • Participate in pre- and post-campaign analysis
  • Assist in managing the third-party site tagging business process the team is responsible for
  • Champion the growth of the website through high quality traffic and conversion
  • Coach and model exemplary behavior for fellow team members; champion success of team members
  • Maintain an enterprise-wide viewpoint; understand and improve the team’s ability to drive positive impact throughout the company as a whole
  • Develop a detailed working knowledge of all team projects and priorities; serve as backup and proxy for manager and any teammate

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to seamlessly go from raw data through complex modelling techniques to a final output that is insightful, valuable, tightly packaged and easily digestible is a must
  • Project and stakeholder prioritization and management
  • Critical thinker; can determine and execute on the best way to measure and display performance metrics
  • Ability to employ advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to create complex, high-level reporting models from concept to completion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; track record of presenting data-heavy information in clear and concise manner to all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable with, and adaptive to, change
  • Ability to on-board, train and coach team members

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-year college degree in a quantitative field required; background in business, marketing, statistics, economics a plus
  • Five years digital marketing analysis & reporting experience
  • Track record of creating and delivering reporting analysis on tight deadlines
  • Consistent examples of strong presentation skills including verbal presentation, PowerPoint creation and formal written documents
  • History of continuous professional education and growth
  • Knowledge of the following tools a plus:
    • Web analytics tools (Adobe/Omniture, GA360, etc.)
    • BI platforms (BOXI/BOBI, etc.)
    • Attribution tools (VisualIQ, Adometry)
    • Statistical software such as SAS or SPSS
    • Ad serving technology and search platforms (DCM, DFP/DFA, AdWords, Marin, etc.)
    • Third party data sources (ComScore, Hitwise, etc.)
    • Data visualization tools (Tableau, etc.)
