In partnership with the Lead, PR & Communications, the Senior Digital Communications Specialist will focus on planning, executing and analyzing digital, social, and internal communications at Peapod Digital Labs. Leveraging a strong expertise in social media, content development, social monitoring, and reporting, this role will work to craft communications and content across multiple channels of the business - for a variety of audiences. Additionally, this role will continuously refine and support various communication forums that help keep leadership and employees informed and connected to our organizational strategy and reinforce our culture. The position requires a self-motivated, dynamic communications professional who is passionate about creative storytelling and leveraging new communication channels for audiences in different mediums.

Recipe for Success - What's “in store” for the role

• In partnership with the Lead, PR & Communications, responsible for executing communication plans & campaigns (i.e., stakeholders, audience, vehicles, calendar/timelines) aligned with the communications/business strategy and employer brand.
• Manages communication channels, including company website, internal intranet sites, company email messages, social media channels, and external blogs.
• Partners with business leaders to uncover ‘good news’ stories and content to promote to enhance the company culture and employer brand. Proofreads documents to verify accuracy and effectiveness in conveying the necessary key messages.
• Develops regular social media content to provide a continuous flow of captivating content for the various audiences. Content includes creating compelling written, visual and/or multimedia components, website articles/series, podcasts, or other innovative technologies and vehicles.
• Monitors press and social media while continuously and proactively seeking PR opportunities to enhance the reputation of Peapod Digital Labs in the eCommerce and grocery space.
• Researches and follows digital and social media trends intently, helping develop compelling strategy for these ever-evolving platforms.
• Serve as an internal consultant and partner with business leaders to build strategic communication plans that drive employee engagement, shape culture and employer brand, and connect employees to business objectives.
• Work on ad hoc projects as assigned.

The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients 

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related area.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate communications role, with demonstrated experience in social media strategy and planning.
• Strong experience using MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint) – a true PowerPoint wizard who can easily create compelling and engaging presentations in PDL’s medium of choice.
• Proven Multimedia experience; the ability to use audio, visual, and video to creatively to tell a story.
• Experience planning, presenting and facilitating meetings, training and events to various levels within the organization.
• Extraordinary writing and presentation development skills.
• Creative visual storyteller with a passion for creating content for all channels and audiences.

• Strong analytical skills, including use of data to state a business case and problem-solving ability
• Strong project management skills, including measurement, reporting and analysis
• The Communications Team is the gatekeeper of all written, visual, and digital content, so a passionate attention to detail and follow-through is a must
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, make timely decisions and drive behavioral change within the company
• Ability to simplify concepts and tailor messages for specific audiences
• Strong proficiency in multi-tasking and handling multiple priorities
• Strong facilitation skills in various settings, from small group meetings to large development events
• Successful track record in building and maintaining relationships at all levels of the organization
• Problem solver with the ability to switch seamlessly between critical thinking and tactical execution within a fast-paced environment
