The Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Chicago (polsky.uchicago.edu) is looking for a talented social media and content marketing manager to bring our brand to life across all digital and social media channels during UChicago Innovation Fest 2019. Must be a self-starter with a passion for digital storytelling. Graphic design, video production, and social media management experience strongly preferred.

Innovation Fest Marketing:

  • Develop the Innovation Fest social media toolkit, including sample posts and multimedia/image assets to promote the lineup of events happening during Innovation Fest (May 1-June 9, 2019)
    • Ensure assets are sized appropriately across various social media platforms.
    • Attend a variety of Innovation Fest events to produce live content of Innovation Fest.
    • Create social media video teasers to promote key Innovation Fest events.
  • Create posters, postcards and the booklet/brochure for Innovation Fest 2019.
  • Develop emails for Innovation Fest partners to share information about Innovation Fest.
  • Create stories for UChicago News, the Polsky Center, and Innovation Fest partners.
  • Support Innovation Fest events, as needed.

Social Media and Digital Marketing Management:

  • Manage social media marketing content, campaigns, and day-to-day activities including:
    • Develop a content calendar for social media and amplify relevant content to accomplish Polsky Center’s broader marketing goals.
    • Create, curate, and manage all published content across existing (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram) and new social media channels.
    • Develop social media visuals, cards, and graphics, including infographics, event features, profiles, etc.
    • Attend a variety of Polsky Center and ecosystem events to produce live content of these events.
  • Use active listening to develop and expand online community and influencer outreach.
    • Analyze key engagement metrics and implement recommendations to improve performance and KPIs.
  • Develop a social media influencer engagement plan and create a marketing program to target influencers to encourage them to share Polsky Center content.
  • Collaborate with marketing and programming teams to source content related to existing programs, startup milestones, faculty research, science innovation, and alumni successes.
  • Recommend, design, create, and manage the Polsky Center’s paid digital marketing promotions and social advertising campaigns to drive awareness and conversion. Measure performance and report on key metrics.

Communications and Design:

  • Support the creation of print materials including posters, one-pagers, event handouts, etc. that can be used for Polsky Center events, campus-wide marketing campaigns, office signage, and storytelling purposes.
  • Help design graphics that can be used across Polsky Center digital screens and office displays.
  • Contribute to long-form content pieces (news stories, profiles, press releases, etc.) that highlight Polsky Center programs and entrepreneurs, as assigned.
  • Support newsletter creation, website updates, and/or email marketing projects, as needed.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.
