About the Role

As the VP of Marketing, you will report directly into the COO, who manages marketing, sales, operations, and training. This person will be responsible for ensuring that our marketing efforts are executed successfully to align with Trunk Club’s strategic growth plans, both short and long term. Our biggest focus today is establishing a scalable solution for our direct response efforts which directly impact our staffing model, our organic traffic strategy, and our overall efforts in driving our TC brand awareness. This role will directly manage our Creative Services & Events, in addition to the Consumer Marketing team.

What You'll Do

  • Continue to build, develop and manage a high-performing team of direct response and brand marketers
  • Forecast and deliver on demand targets for new and existing customers across all business lines
  • Oversee creative and brand strategy, developing a plan to leverage creative to deliver on business and marketing objectives
  • Partner with Merchandising to ensure promotions and key items are being represented across all marketing touchpoints
  • Oversee customer acquisition and retention strategies, diversifying current mix to ensure sustained future growth
  • Oversee the development of marketing initiatives to ensure high engagement and ROI for portfolio programs
  • Partner with finance to determine the annual marketing budget, and deploy spend to maximize ROI
  • Partner with the technology and member experience teams to lead a unified approach to our customer strategy
  • Develop and communicate a deep understanding of customer journeys and customer lifetime value by channel and segment, informing future strategies
  • Manage retention marketing to a robust analytical approach, measuring the quantitative and qualitative impact on member behavior
  • Drive efforts to create market-leading thought leadership content to help build brand awareness

What Your Background May Look Like

  • 8-10+ years of marketing and strategy experience, startup experience a plus
  • 5+ years CRM experience, including leading customer loyalty and direct marketing programs
  • Experience leading teams in a fast pace and regularly changing environment
  • Previous experience leading digital initiatives such as SEM, SEO, Affiliate Marketing, and Social Media
  • Highly analytical and passionate about testing, data and metrics
  • Proven experience managing demand for a high growth business that is scaling
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lead-based marketing programs
  • Deep knowledge of either customer acquisition or retention, preferably both.
  • Deep knowledge of either paid or organic marketing, preferably both
  • Demonstrated success partnering with cross-functional business units (sales, merchandising, tech, etc.) to manage and execute projects
  • Reputation and track record as a creative, effective and resourceful marketer that has meaningfully contributed to building brands and businesses
  • Strategic thinker who has demonstrated ability to support and contribute to innovative and growth orientated marketing visions and initiatives
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) or equivalent experience
