Job Description

The BIA National Practice Lead will be responsible for:



  • Sustaining a profitable National practice that meets all the revenue, gross margin %, and utilization goals set for the practice.

  • Maintaining a constant energy towards Business Development by supporting and leading BD pursuits; finger on the pulse of our financial health and client needs.

  • Owning the development of our people and growing the group; tap the potential of our people and establish a leadership cadre within the practice to support scale.

  • Maintaining, growing and expanding the current group offerings; foster innovation and diversification of work.

  • Driving the development of processes and operating procedures to scale and sustain; operate the machine.

  • Asserting themselves as a thought leader with an eye towards industry trends and direction.


The BIA Practice Lead will be responsible for managing and mentoring the team, ensuring that they have the right skills to deliver high impact solutions to our clients. Rightpoint is a custom software development “shop” with a Business Intelligence and Analytics practice rooted in the Microsoft technology stack including Azure and Power BI.  Responsibility for defining, applying and measuring solution delivery quality for existing clients and leveraging these metrics for client satisfaction is a key component of the role.


This person will be willing to assist in a pre-sales capacity for opportunities that have been clearly identified as well as provide thought leadership and development of collateral within the sales process. As additional areas of opportunity are identified, the BIA Practice Lead will work to define the policies, procedures and technologies to grow and mature the offering. A successful track record of solution development and maintenance of a client portfolio is critical to success.


It is important that the BIA Practice Lead have a strong and diverse background in not only data-centric development projects, but can also bring to bear the requisite client-facing soft skills that foster positive communications and trust with clients.


Responsibilities


The BIA National Practice Lead primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:


Resource Planning & Management:



  • Creating and supporting staffing and hiring plans for the Rightpoint team

  • Planning and identifying resource needs throughout the practice

  • Actively working with the team to manage work assignments and client responsibilities

  • Preparing for engagement reviews and promoting/using appropriate quality assurance procedures


Financial Management



  • Understanding team revenue model, and cost-to-completion projections and making decisions accordingly

  • Understanding Rightpoint’s pricing model and billing procedures

  • Developing and refining delivery models from a resource and financial perspective

  • Accurately forecasting revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization




 


Business Development



  • Partnering with Rightpoint’s Solution Leads to influence and partner in the Business Development Lifecycle and Sales Pipeline formulation; Solution Leads provide connectivity with the market and clients, providing a valuable partnership with the National Practice.



  • Bringing in revenue based on relationships and networks; exerting energy to tap into your own personal revenue sources.



  • Identifying "follow-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific client engagement

  • Assisting proposal efforts including completing project scoping and SOW assessments

  • Possessing a thorough understanding of Rightpoint’s capabilities and ability to effectively articulate these to clients in time sensitive situations


Delivery Focused



  • Possessing experience in a consulting environment juggling multiple projects and providing indirect oversight over a large number of projects

  • Demonstrating experience stepping in to provide air cover to teams and swarming projects that are faced with issues and need to be rescued

  • Providing subject matter expertise and being a trusted technology advisor to teams and client stakeholders. Providing confidence and assurance that things will get done right.


Technical Understanding



  • Possessing detailed competency and understanding in business intelligence and data architecture.

  • Desired experience includes the following areas:


    • Data storage and architecture, with an emphasis towards the Azure BI and Analytics ecosystem

    • Data warehousing

    • Database monitoring and performance tuning

    • Data movement, transformations, cleansing, and migrations

    • Machine Learning and predictive analytics

    • Disaster recovery and backup strategy

    • Solution scaling and resiliency/redundancy

    • Data security and compliance (PCI, HIPPA, etc.)


  • Hands on experiences with Azure tools or their analogues AWS / Google cloud tools (this is not an exhaustive list)


    • Information Management: Data Factory, Data Catalog, Event Hubs

    • Data Storage: Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage

    • Big Data Solution: Azure Data Lake Storage / Analytics, HD Insight, Azure Data Warehouse

    • Analytics Solution: Azure Analysis Services, ML Studio

    • Intelligence: Cognitive Services, Bot Frameworks, Cortana Intelligence Suite

    • Visualization & Apps: Power BI, Power Apps


  • Maintaining awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements


Client Management



  • Developing lasting relationships with client personnel that foster loyalty

  • Communicating effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluating alternative solutions

  • Continually seeking opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepening relationships

  • Building a knowledge base of each client's business, organization and objectives




 


Team Development



  • Helping to drive team member career development opportunities

  • Partnering with People Potential to develop training plans that will ensure that team members stay on the cutting edge of technology needed to support Rightpoint’s project work.

  • Continuously defining or refining internal processes/assets to ensure consistency and repeatability across clients, especially as new situations or scenarios are encountered

  • Conducting effective performance evaluations and mentoring those with less experience through formal and informal channels

  • Challenging fellow team members to progress toward their professional development goals


Required Education



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Computer Science (preferred) or related field


Minimum Requirements



  • Experience managing a team of 5+ geographically dispersed highly motivated and innovative teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills between both the customer and all levels within the organization are required

  • Knowledge of sound business practices and a proven track record of exceeding customer expectations and anticipating their needs are also required

  • 5 or more years of solution development leadership responsibilities managing and delivering successful client projects.

  • Experience with Microsoft’s Business Intelligence stack, heavily centered on Microsoft Azure-based solutions.

  • Excellent consulting skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members

  • Successful track record of developing and maintaining a client portfolio

  • Ability to motivate and grow a team, including growing the next line of leadership

  • Must be motivated with a focus on team performance

  • Willingness to travel periodically
